Rest in Peace
Jeff Alborn unfortunately passed away July 25, 2013.

He is my third cousin. We both shared a strong interest in our Lockhart ancestors and their Civil War heritage. He is much missed.

Matthew Murray Dawson
Thank you for posting the pictures of the grave of Matthew Murray Dawson and his wife Rachel.

I was wondering if it would be too much trouble to check to make sure you photographed the graves at the Neshannock Cemetery in Lawrence Co., Penn.

I was under the belief that they were buried at the Neshannock Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wilmington, Lawrence Co. Penn.

Thank you for the many memorials you have contributed to. I hope that this is not too much trouble.

RE: Thank You!
By the way, did you know that William Elemelich Lockhart's father John F. Lockhart also fought in the Civil War in the Pennsylvania 100th Infantry Regiment?

I have a scanned copy of his PA Veteran Burial Record, if you are interested. It says he is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, PA, in Section Lot No. N 21.

Although it seems a little strange, given his age, the Ancestry.com records show that he served from 8/31/1861 to 8/30/1864 (copied below).

Name: John Lockhart
Residence: Lawrence County, Pennsylvania
Enlistment Date: 31 Aug 1861
Rank at enlistment: Private
State Served: Pennsylvania
Survived the War?: Yes
Service Record: Enlisted in Company I, Pennsylvania 100th Infantry Regiment on 31 Aug 1861.
Mustered out on 30 Aug 1864.
Death Date: 3 Jun 1901
Death Place: Sharon, PA
Sources: History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-1865
Record of the men of the 100th PA Infantry: James C. Stevenson
Lawrence County Historical Society, New Castle, PA

RE: Thank You!
Thanks for getting back in touch so quickly, Jeff!

All of the pictures are at my parent's house in New Castle. I will be home sometime this summer. I will look then and see what Lockhart pictures there are and will scan them in for you (and me).

My parents still see Mary Jane Lockhart Mills and her husband Tom Mills occasionally.

Someone named Robert McLaughlin, who is a also a Lockhart descendant and worked with Ken Lockhart and Tom Mills, contacted me on Ancestry.com.

Maybe all the Lockhart descendants could get together when my sisters and I are in PA this summer? Not sure when that will be right now, but I will let you know.

Thanks!
