I would like to tip my hat to those intrepid volunteers that take photographs in cemeteries. Getting a good photo is not easy! The angle of the sun, clouds, grass clippings, over grown weeds, etc. If you have a better picture to upload than I've taken, let me know and if I concur, I'll delete mine. If you want to upload a picture to a memorial I've created, let me know and I'll request one! Photographers deserve as much reward as they can get!|
Families that I'm researching include Lapham, Wixson, Hillyard-Hyliard, Jesseph, Rappleye, Van Nuys, Cantrell, Gennrich-Genrich, Wilk-Wilkie-Wilczewski, Hoff, and Filipowicz-Phillips. And my wife's family Sawyer, Mumm, Limb, Curry, Barkuloo, Schmidt, and Green.
Working Peoria County cemeteries. Photographed: Prospect, Chillicothe, Streitmatter, and Saint Joseph Mooney Cemetery.
I am now working the historic Springdale Cemetery. Have 100% photograhed Division A, The Willows, Forrest Lawn, Woodland Heights, Front Lawn, Chapel View, Mt. Sinai, Mt. Hope, Washington Heights, Resurrection, Masonic Garden, Gethsemane, Good Shepherd, Valley View, Hillcrest Division, Garden of Memories, and Lawn Division grave markers in Springdale. Working the Last Supper / Sermon on the Mount and Glen Division and Glen Extension now.
If you make edit suggestions, I do investigate every suggestion before accepting. I do not accept suggestions, where the only source is an ancestry tree. Documentation is required.
Please do not ask me to link a memorial to burial "unknown", this web site is for the known dispostion of the remains. Let's keep it that way.
A few things I've learned...
Death certificates are good for date and location of death (other info on death certificate is advisory).
Birth certificate is the best source for date of birth, location, and parents.
Info from headstones is also advisory too. Headstones are sometimes put in place decades later by descendants and errors are made.
I will transfer ownership of a memorial to you if they fall within the Find A Grave guidelines (*with one exception), unless they are part of my own genealogical research.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
*Once a memorial is complete: death record added, family links made, obituary added, etc. please do not ask for a transfer.
Many of the transfers that I've made, just sit there, no embellishments.

Hi Stephen Cantrell -- Thanks for all the very much appreciated extra effort and the helpful side notes regarding Michael Everett Beason's unmarked grave spot. It's always curious as to the story behind unmarked graves. As time goes on, "more will be revealed".

Hi Steve Cantrell -- Yes, please upload the picture you took showing his unmarked burial site. Is it possible to show the two graves he is in-between?? in the photo?? I may be able to read them, too. Thank you for your help. You are appreciated.

I can do that if I know which ones that I have requested have been looked for and not found.
Thanks for the quick reply.
If you wouldn't mind deleting the Hattie in Ottawa Ave, I would truly appreciate it. It's just that I have quite a bit of information on the Wyman family that I'd like to add to their memorials, and I don't want to have to bother you if I end up finding more on Hattie. Sadly, the Wyman family was full of tragedy, and many of the stories I heard first-hand when I was a kid.
Wow! What a daunting task taking on such a large cemetery! Thank goodness for people like you willing to do that. I wish I would have been a little quicker with Summit View, as 65 headstones were just broken from vandalism. :(
I noticed that you entered a memorial for Hattie (Wyman) Nyquist in the Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. I wanted to let you know that she's actually buried in the Summit View Cemetery in South Ottawa with her parents. She does not have a stone, but here are how the cemetery records reads:
Peter Wyman 1833- 6/15/1915 Co L 11 IL. Inf, Civil War, murdered
Emily Wyman (maiden name Reed)1840-11/23/1915, wife of Peter
Leon Henry Wyman (1863-8/16/1866), son of Peter, 2 yrs, 9 months, 7 days
Hattie Nyquist (no stone) d. 5/29/1919, wife of Oscar, cancer.
Abby H Reed-d. 7/20/1871 Wife of Abner, 55 years,5 mo, 13 dys (broken stone) - I looked, but no stone found.
Abner Reed-no stone
Abner and Abby were Emily's parents.
I had to unearth part of Emily's stone to photograph it, and when I get a chance, I'll get better photos.
There are 8 Reed's and 14 Wyman's buried in Summit View per the cemetery records.
I am distantly related to the Wyman's through the Bettgers, so I do have some information if you need it.
I'm also attempting to enter and photograph all burials in Summit View, as the grounds are in poor shape.
I'm going to go ahead and link Hattie in Summit View and Oscar.

|Cathie Plaehn||RE: Rachel Barnum|
As I look again Charley may even be Rachel's son.
If you look at Corinthian cemetery, Farmington, MN in Find a Grave you will see that I uploaded pictures of all theBarnum family stones. From the dates I believe Charley would be your wife's husband's brother, although no one has him listed as such. They were all together.
Glad to help fill in pieces.

I went and linked them up.
