Families that I'm researching include Lapham, Wixson, Hillyard-Hyliard, Jesseph, Rappleye, Van Nuys, Cantrell, Gennrich-Genrich, Wilk-Wilkie-Wilczewski, Hoff, and Filipowicz-Phillips. And my wife's family Sawyer, Mumm, Limb, Curry, Barkuloo, Schmidt, and Green. |
Currently working Peoria County cemeteries. Photographed: Prospect, Chillicothe, Streitmatter, Saint Joseph Mooney Cemetery, and am now working the historic Springdale Cemetery. Have 100% photograhed Division A, The Willows, and Forrest Lawn Division grave markers in Springdale. Have started photographing the Woodland Heights Division.
If you make edit suggestions, I do investigate every suggestion before accepting. I do not accept suggestions, where the only source is an ancestry tree. Documentation is required.
A few things I've learned...
Death certificates are good for date and location of death (other info on death certificate is advisory).
Birth certificate is the best source for date of birth, location, and parents.
Info from headstones is also advisory too. Headstones are sometimes put in place decades later by descendants and errors are made.
I will transfer ownership of a memorial to you if they fall within the Find A Grave guidelines, unless they are part of my own genealogical research.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
I will also admit that I'm reluctant to transfer ownership where an obit is included and all of the links have already been made.
Many of the transfers that I've made, just sit there, no embellishments.

Thank you. I am mid-mess. I have a stone for a George Fridley who died Jan, 8, 1853. There have been two children added to his memorial: Annie (142296660) and Susan. The dates they died (1857 and 1889, I think the second date is) don't make sense for a father who died in 1853. I haven't written to the person who placed it but I am sure that this George Fridley's death date is Jan. 8, 1853, not the one on the memorial of the father that Annie and Susan have been placed on. Too confusing to send a correction.
I am not getting answers to my queries - I am sending corrections to people and they aren't responding - I'm thinking of just putting the correct stones up, even though I know they are duplicates. What do you think?

Hi - I just added a picture for his wife, Bernice (from the FUN day I slid down the hill) - would you like to add the memorial for Paul - born Sept. 10, 1904 - died Feb. 23, 1988? Thanks for all your help, again!

Stephen, I had not worked on this person for about five years and looking at my notes, I found her last name on the tree of a cousin of mine, which I've since learned contains some errors. Just spent three hours trying to verify her last name as Duffy and could not. Please do not change her last name and I apologize for jumping the gun on this. I have updated my memorial for her husband William Peter Holzinger, with your information on burial and your photo from Springdale. Thank you for the transfer. John

|Shawdau||RE: Thanks - Woodland Heights|
Is it Washington Heights or Mount Washington? I started putting Mount Washington on burials, but I found one I had done completely and it says Washington Heights. Argh. I think I'm done for tonight.

|Shawdau||RE: Thanks - Woodland Heights|
The only section I know is completed is Mount Auburn, which is where I started at Springdale.
I have ten copies of maps of Springdale around my room - one of them will show up. I thought I would be okay on this section by the mausoleum because my uncle is buried there, but (surprise) there's no section on his Find A Grave marker - I usually take a picture of the section name, but I was in a hurry. It definitely wasn't done - I added about 20 burials.

Thank You for the Woodland Heights notes. I'm putting some Springdale in right now and I don't know what the section is called - I can find out and go back and add them. They are right outside the Mausoleum. I looked at the sign as I left, but I can't remember it - I should have taken a picture!
