I've always been fascinated with grave sites, visited cemeteries, made rubbings, took photos, etc. and must say that find-a-grave is an ideal site.

I've worked on family history projects for over 35 years and will for as long as I can. I'm more than happy to share family history with anyone interested.

The primary names I research are STROOPE, KEA, Pitts, Howton, Trammel, Hopper, Hale, Thetford, CARPER, BARTON, Lyon, Phipps, Griffith, Ellison, Shumate and many allied lines.

When I document a grave site, I try to include some information on the parents, siblings, marriage, etc. hoping this will help someone identify their relative. In some cases, when recording my line, or lines, I've created memorials for as much of the cemetery as I've had access to.

I'm not likely to post obits. I prefer to glean information from any I receive.

I'll be glad to transfer your family member to you. Always remember the FAG # for the memorial page and, of course, your FAG #. PLEASE do not send me a big list of names with no numbers included... thanks

If I have grave site information in error, please contact me so that corrections can be made.

Recent projects include:

--Gig Harbor and Haven of Rest Cemeteries, Gig Harbor, Pierce County, Washington

--JCC Smith Cemetery in Texas

--Knight of Pythias and Sunset Lane Memorial Park, Port Orchard, Kitsap County, Washington

--Lovington and Resthaven Cemeteries, Lovington, Lea County, New Mexico

--Mountain View Memorial Park, Lakewood, Pierce County, Washington

--Mount Calvary Cemetery (Santa Barbara Cemetery) , Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico

--Calvary, Old Pioneer and Tacoma Cemeteries, Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington

--Riverside Cemetery in Vassar, Tuscola County, Michigan

RE: Samuel Dewitt Munson - 109140435
Thank you Kathy. I was not challenging you regarding the order of his first and second names. It is clear he preferred to be known as Samuel.

Samuel Dewitt Munson
Samuel Dewitt Munson whom I know as Dewitt Samuel Munson (Find A Grave Memorial# 109140435) is my grandfather. I was introduced to him once, probably in the late 1940s after the war.
He has been somewhat of a mystery and your Find A Grave entry is helpful. Are you related to Dewitt Munson? I ask because my mother was one of his two daughters and she was b. Phoebe June Munson not Jane. notified me today that there was some potential new information regarding him. Indeed there is.
I look forward to hearing from you.

My great aunt - and namesake - is Cynthia Viola Butcher Barnett Anderson.
In fact, someone used a picture I added to my ancestry page for her for this memorial. I'm hoping you might transfer it to me. my number is 47888484.

Thank you so much,

Eunice Elizabeth McDonough Bell Thompson
Hi, I'm a friend of the family. Eunice is my friend's grandmother. I notice that David Swart originally created her Find A Grave Memorial. Most of the information is correct. We are curious of the source of Eunice's parents names came from. Eunice is listed on the 1910 WA census with her adopted Mother. Elizabeth E. McDonough with no husband. Eunice's birth name was Eunice Bell Neeley. There was a reunion in South Colby, we think 1938 when the two families reunited. The newspaper article has been misplaced. Please share any information as we've been search for years. Regards, Victoria Henwood

Kathy, You've suggested that Sam's father is Alex instead of George and that Janie is his wife, not his mother. I've not been able to find any confirmation of this. I'm having difficulty finding anything to prove Sam with a birth date of 1901 as shown on his tombstone. I did find a Sam in the 1900 census as being born in 1895. His parents were George and Janie and his grandfather was Alex. Could you give me some information to substantiate your information about Sam's father and wife? Thanks

RE: Dudley Brooks ...
Hello Kathy,
Not sure how much I can help. My relationship with Zechariah Brooks is through his Granddaughter, Lucinda Brooks Bird. He is the Mathernal Grandfather of my 1st cousin 5X's removed.
Most of my information, other than the cemetery survey, came from Donna Yarbrough, author of the book, "It All Began With Moses". That is Moses Yarbrough. The Yarbrough/Yarborough and Peurifoy families intermarried a number of times. I did not follow all the family lines as they were well researched. I am probably related in some fashion to half the people buried in the Butler cemetery.
After I got sick several years ago I let some of my genealogy work go. Just couldn't keep up with it, my mother's Alzheimer's, and then my son's death. I'm only getting back into research through find a grave.
You might be able to find a copy of the Book "It all began with Moses" on the internet, either ebay or Amazon.
Only a small suggestion, but I hope it helps. My email is on my page. It is dedicated to genealogy and cemetery research.

Thetford Family
Hi Kathy,

I have been researching my Thetford line for over 40 years.

King Thetford was my G-G-G-Grandfather - This is as far back as I can go, but I have found more that I would like to prove kinship before I consider it written in stone.

I do know he had a brother, Constant Thetford

The person who was Bondsman for King Thetford and Jane A. Wilson when they got married was Sanford Thetford which leads me to believe Sanford and my King Thetford were related.

I have not been able to connect parents to my King Thetford and his brother, Constant Thetford.

Please send me your email address, and I can discuss this further and hopefully connect more to my Thetford Line.
