RE: Chas Bromley in Richmond, IL
Thank you so very much for making another visit to the cemetery. Your first photo provided me with confirmation of the month and day of death. I could make out 1852 on the stone. I was just hoping that we could get some idea of his age when he died. I appreciate the effort of trying to get a rubbing. Have you ever used interfacing...the good ol' fashioned kind that was sewed into collar, cuff?. Makes for really good rubbing material! Do you have any idea what the second stone might be? Educated guess? There is no mention of a second child lost while living there. I am going by a Bromley Family history book written in 1911. It was how I knew about Charles in the first place. Again, thank you for your efforts. Greatly appreciated. By the way, does this cemetery have sections, locations?? In case we make a trip that way..LOL!

RE: Chas Bromley in Richmond, IL
I have checked the census's from 1850 & 1860. According to a family history book written in 1911, Charles was born Oct 1850. The 1850 census was taken in late November 1850. He is not listed. That is why I believe that the YOB may be 1851 instead. This book has been a good guide but not always accurate. That same book listed a death date as Aug 11. I can make that out from the photo. I think the year may be 1852. There is an age of death on the stone, but I cannot decipher.

It would be wonderful if you get the opportunity to check the marker again. THANK YOU!

Chas Bromley
Sorry before...I pushed the incorrect key. I have posted some family history on the memorial for Charles. His father was a merchant of some sort and appointed postmaster in July 1853. Three children were born in llinois before he moved on to WI.

Would be most pleased to share. Charles Bromley, the father came from NY. I have hx back to the 1600s. Do you know where in the cemetery the grave is located? Any chance a rubbing could be done? I have a DOB & a month & day of death but no year. Looks on the stone as Aug 11 which is what I have. Wish I could make out year of death for certain..maybe 1852? I see aged but cannot make out the rest either.

photo of my birth father's headstone
Hello rommy

My name is Sadaqah. I just want to show my appreciation
For you taking a photo of my late father's headstone.
Pvt Gregory Cornell Allen is my birth father. He passed away when I was a year and nine months old. That was October 26,1977. I'm turned 38 years old last month on the 15th. What made you decide to upload the photo? Did you know him personally? Did someone request the photo? If so who? Did that person know him personally? I'm searching for his surviving relatives. Get back to me as soon as you get this message. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for posting all the Oxtoby graves. I knew they were buried in McHenry County, but I didn't know which cemetery. It's always great to be able to add one more piece of information onto our family pages! Thanks again.
