Bio Photo Aug. 2014
You may use tombstone photos which I have posted for your personal, non-commercial, non-internet use without asking further permission.
I have several hundred old family photos from 85 or more years ago. I have extremely mixed emotions about posting them online because I know there are people who will copy them and claim them and treat them as their own. But I want other family members to have an opportunity to see these pictures. Please contact me for permission to use any of these family pictures.
When taking photos from a memorial please document my full name as it appears here and the memorial number from which it was taken. Please let me know if you have a photo identical to any of mine, because that would mean we are probably related. I love to hear the stories behind the photos and make connections to new found relatives.
DO NOT POST ANY OF MY PHOTOS ONLINE ANYWHERE! That includes other FindaGrave memorials.
Earlier:
I have been interested in family history since the mid-1970's and interested in cemeteries since childhood when we often walked to Lewis Cem a small rural cemetery where we read the stones, told ghost stories and noted the tragedy of infant mortality.
Much research has been done on my Gerrish family since they were an early New England family arriving in Newbury MA in 1639. But much less is known of my mother's family so at this time I am more interested in learning about her Small, Holton, Ramsay, Ogle, and Light families, the first 2 in PA and the others in Canada, Scotland and Ireland.
Besides my own family I am deeply involved in research of the small rural cemeteries of Carrigan Twp, Marion Co, IL: Lewis, Harrison (where approximately 70% of the burials have some connection to my 3x-Great Grandfather, Henry Gerrish), Phelps and Wisher (listed here as Burton/Kissner/Wisher).
Any new information to add to the memorials I have created as well as infomation on my own lines is greatly appreciated.
Though my ratio of managed memorials to created memorials is high, I AM NOT a hoarder aka number person. Most of my memorials which I did not create came from the accounts of deceased or inactive contributors. If I have no connection whatever to a memorial that I manage I am always happy to find someone who would like to take it over. And I am just as happy to receive any and all that have a connection with my extended family.

RE: William Pursley edit request # 68603237
Jane,

Thank you for transferring him to me. I Only have Lydia Little's Father William Little (B 1770 England D 1820 Bond, Illinois)and his wife Catherine no maiden name. And William's Father Samuel Little, I haven't looked into them honestly. I will take a deeper look in the next few days. Of course, Looking for William and Catherine Little in or from England may not be a simple task.

Thanks again my barely cousin.

Sherry

William Darrel Pursley (1820 - 1892) is the brother of Guion Black Pursley, making him my 3rd Great GrandUncle. All I have is family hearsay no specific source.

If you don't wish to add the middle name that is fine. I appreciate your efforts.

Are we related? Or do you just manage this memorial? If you aren't related would you consider transferring him to me?

Thanks for your time.

RE: Daniel family edits
I will do some back tracking and see if I can verify another source. As you can see from pictures I spent a few days in Missouri, during your heat wave, visiting cemeteries. Lot of picture, so getting them slowly processed. Feeding information as I find it. Sorry for return visits you may have to make to memorials. Thanks for the changes, it is appreciated!

RE: Annie E. Gath maiden name
I am not related to the Gath family, but my 3rd great aunt Anne Elizabeth Layne married a William Gath in Richmond, Virginia on March 23, 1905. I know very little about her and was hoping this is the same Anne Gath. The birth dates don't match exactly, but headstones can be wrong. I have her birth date as October 15, 1859.

Found a connection . . .
It seems that Martha Honeychurch and Enola Raede have the same maiden name. Maybe they are sisters? I hope that solves the mystery.

Regards,
B.J.

Fred and Martha Honeychurch
Hello again! I am fulfilling two of your requests with photos of the area, only. Fred and Martha do not have markers (Jessie did!). Jessie is buried in a different part of the cemetery.

Interestingly, Fred and Martha are buried in between 4 people with the surname Raede. Do you know if they are related? I am going to create memorials for them and add photos. Let me know if you know the relationship, if any.

I am sorry this was not a more positive outcome.

Best regards,
B.J.

James Resch
Jane,
I do not know how I got the wrong wife listed for James Resch the correct one is in the book. I have changed the bio to reflect Phyllis as his wife and did not list any children.

Thanks again for your help.

Daughter Bopp
Jane,
I am not sure that Helen Marie Bopp and Daughter Bopp are the same infant. If you look at the dates you gave from the death certificate they do not match the dates on the grave marker. I am wondering if perhaps they could have been twins and died a year apart. Also Carrigan Township is not listed as one of the towns you can enter for Marion County.

RE: Susan M. Gerrish - Contoocook Village Cemetery
Hi Jane,

Regarding the Wilson Monument, J.W. and Elizabeth are on what I consider the "front" as that is where the WILSON is at the bottom of the stone. Edwin and Alice May are left of the front and Harland was right of the front. The back side had no names or I would have taken a photo and added photos to any names online. I did add photos for Alice May.
It is amazing how much we can research, but some ancestors are very difficult to find information on!

Good Luck!
~Stephanie
