I grew up in Palestine, Crawford County, Illinois. As a descendant of the Kitchell Family, founding pioneer family, I have tried to compile the connections of relatives within that family and the web of related persons in Palestine. So many of the families intermarried. I no longer live there so most of my information is on connections of families from 1815 to 1960s.|
My other family interests are the Cline-Warner families who were the first white families in Oklahoma from my mother's ancestors and the Taylor-Wells-Holmes families in Ohio from my father's ancestors.
Any pictures that I post may be freely copied; they are there to be shared. It is nice to be cited as the contributor, but I don't get all hung up on needing credit. But I do feel that in genealogy work, it is best to keep track of your sources for information and pictures as it helps authenticate the material.

Thanks for all the additional information. I've linked him to his parents and will keep searching for clues to location of his first
wife. I'll try to link any children or siblings who are unconnected
as time permits, while adding to the biography. His second wife
Martha Johnson's maternal grandmother was a sister of both my
three greats and my great-great-grandmother. So I didn't really
have much information on previous marriage & children: parents;
or siblings when I originally added him to Find-a-Grave.

Thanks for pointing out Erastus Thayer's marriage year and place.

Thx for the info. Changes made...hopefully correctly. My info came from the death certificate, and things are sometimes not entirely accurate there.
|Holley Izard||RE: James Harvey Wilson|
The lady who found it for me said she actually got it from microfilm at the county historical society.

Mary, we corresponded some time back, all our messages are still on your Find A Grave profile. I've worked on a DAR app for a Wilson descendant for some time. I wanted you to know that a DAR member found a Will for James H. Wilson in Crawford County that was written March 27, 1857, 3 days before his death. It is in Will Book 2, pages 67-69, Crawford County. It named all his children including James C. Wilson, so it ties up the application for me. Thanks you so much for your help and information on this family.
|RLNT/Genea Logos||RE: James Floyd Hardesty #126775525|
I transferred James to you. In his bio I made the corrections you suggested but added Conflict when referring to his service in Korea. That is because the US never declared war on North Korea but was the lead nation in a United Nations force to help South Korea since China, with assistance from Russia, was helping North Korea.
Thank you for point out my typing errors, I try to double check what I write, I have arthritis in my right hand, but this must have gotten away from me.
|NL Nuttall||Leslie Lee Matthews|
Thanks for pointing out the typo in Leslie Lee Matthews age. Do you know the date of his marriage to Eliza Alice Smith? If we could add the date it would help assure her spouses are in order. Her 2nd husband Oscar Ford was related through 3 of his 4 grandparents.
|Mike Casey||Resurrection: RICH|
Mary, thanks for the added biographical data for both David and Rose.
|Okie in Oregon||Baker|
Thank you for the maiden name & marriage information. Are you possibly related to the Short's of Ponca City, OK
