I have worked on genealogy for a number of years. My family interests are Burnell, Utterback, Taylor, Burkholder, Burton, McColley, White, and Brown. Since retiring, I have become interested in Findagrave and have been working more on my "roots". Cemeteries have always fascinated me and now I have trouble driving by one without taking pictures. I am happy to transfer family, add or link or make corrections. Please do not enter duplicates. Please do not be a "collector" of graves. If you are NOT going to add information, do NOT request a transfer just to have the entry. I find it very important as much information is saved as possible especially photos of the headstones as so many are in poor condition. I love for family to find my entries.|

Thank you very much Kay. Yes, your surname sounds Czech. Do you know which town did they come from?

I am interested in obtaining info on James E Johnson. He is the father of a nephew who is married to my niece.
Would you have knowledge of James or his first wife Virginia Darlene?
I am doing some Ancestry for him and would appreciate an info you might have on where she may be buried.
Virginia is James first wife.
His second wife was my nephews mother, and her name was Janis Darlene Johnson.
I am not sure if she is buried in Graceland. Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes, but her parents are wrong. Are you going to leave it or amend it?

Kay, thank you for your good reply. I hate to tell you this - Sally Rogers, wife of Elisha D. Bishop was NOT a daughter of Heman Rogers. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Rogers Jr. of Montville, CT. The 1810 census of Smithville, NY shows Elisha Bishop living next door to Matthew G. Rogers and William T. Rogers who were brothers of Sally [Rogers] Bishop. The Bishop family also lived in Montville and were neighbors. In the early years, families grouped together in droves when settling in new territories for survival purposes. The 1850 Census of Harrisville, Ohio shows three Rogers brothers living close by to Elisha D Bishop's family. In his household was Nathaniel Rogers aged 54 who was Sally Bishop's brother. See what I mean? Heman Rogers of Branford, CT was not one of the families who migrated to New York. I have studied the Nathaniel Rogers Jr. family group carefully and have looked at deeds and probate records here at the CT State Library...so I know my research is accurate.

Do you have any information on Sally Ann, wife of Elisha D Bishop? She was listed in the 1850 census of Bridgeport aged 73. My guess is that she died between 185o-60.
Is the inscription record for Elisha D Bishop from his tombstone? You did not add or show a picture of it, so I'm wondering where that info came from?
Thank you for your interest in this matter. Jonathan Twiss, Hartford, CT
