Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Illinois and love genealogy and find a grave. I like to try and fulfill any requests for fag and am willing to help anyone who needs it.
I am willing to transfer any sites I do to family members. Lately I am getting emails asking about information on some people that I have input. Please use the EDIT BUTTON. I am not into how many photos I can post with the information like it is some kind of race to do the most. I just want to do the best job I can and I am always open for suggestions on my errors when asked.
This is a great site for people looking for genealogy family and for loved ones.

RE: question
I just don't feel the whole obit is necessary on some. As long as parents, wife, children are covered. So many that don't have anything.

Hopkins memorials in IOOF Moweaqua Township Cemetery
Hi Janet. Thank you for your creation of memorial pages for my great-grandfather Albert Hopkins, great-grandmother Wanda Hopkins, Albert's first wife Myrtle, my half great-uncle Carl Hopkins, and Carl's wife Margaret - all in the IOOF Moweaqua Township Cemetery. I'd also like to point out that on Myrtle's memorial (Find A Grave Memorial# 131326522) that is actually a photo of Albert's second wife Wanda.

If you don't mind, I'd also love to take over management for these relatives. Albert was the father of my maternal grandfather, Earl, now buried in my hometown Greenville, Illinois.

Sincerely, Rebecca C.

RE: 37112371 mcmahan
Thank you, Janet, for being so open minded about Mr. McMahan's last name spelling. I have been going through obits--a lot of old ones--and spelling does seem to be an issue with first, middle and/or last names, so I usually do this:

(Example): McMahon [sic]

That way I (you in this case) have posted what I (you) saw in print, but I am (you would be) "saying" spelling different than what I (you) believe to be correct--usually as per stone.

Again, THANK YOU!!!

Have a great day!!!
Pam

Many thanks, Janet for putting the nice biography with Aaron's memorial. I am a US Navy veteran, of the Hospital Corps, now I'm age 81. It's sad, the injuries that are suffered during wars.

RE: hi
I have bad knees also, but I just walk slow and usually carry a cane or a broom. My problem is I can take pictures faster than I can process them. I probably have 1000's to do. When I go out to just look for photo request names I will also take anything that is 4 years or newer and I have found most are not posted or don't have pictures. It sound as if everyone has developed their own process and specialty which covers different areas to get more done. My family came from Lewis county Kentucky area, I don't think any one is working it. Everywhere we go we hit a dead end. The old old cemeteries are hard to find or have disappeared. Some where buried in the back yard in those days and who knows. My gg Grandparents are in Corley Cemetery in Shelby county, it is in a pasture, but the family still owns the property. It is cold today so I'm going to work on pictures. Have a blessed day.

RE: hi
If a cemetery is photographed, like Greenwood, at 46 percent there is a 50/50 chance that the photo is not there. I have found it easier for me to shoot an entire section at a time, go home, process photo request, check for picture or if it is a new one and delete ones that are already there. When I started Memorial Park I spent two days looking for photo request names and walked over most of them. Myers cemetery at Herrick I shoot over 1100 pictures in 4 1/2 hours, I know half I will probably be deleted but I have them if I need them. Kay and I worked together on Memorial Park and we with a couple others added over 3000 names there that were not listed before. Also it is taking me a little more time, but I am using the transcribe feature even if I have to delete some pictures because it gives the GPS location so you can relocate it on the map. Especially if it is family and I want to find it again. I won't leave a duplicate unless it is a better picture. As I said before I don't type that fast so if I can add to what the others like you have done with pictures, dates, spouses and locations. I have only been doing this for a year and a half and I have learned a lot, wish I had gotten involved sooner. I am not doing this for the numbers I do this to honor the names and help others find family. It is a pleasure to be able to work with you, Kay and others on this site.
