Bio and Links
Bio Photo I came to Find A Grave on a genealogical quest. Initially enticed to add my own family entries, I then started looking beyond. Conversing with seasoned biographers on the site lead me to venture into quaint local cemeteries. I became addicted to their quiet, peaceful atmosphere and the sense of accomplishment with every new find. My personal belief is that older markers need to be recorded and photographed for posterity, while still in legible condition. It is my privilege to endeavor to do so.

I continue to seek my extended family history and am delighted to speak with those of similar interest. I am researching the family names Dabney, Trussell, Noland, Winston, Denbrock, Scanlon, Shipman, Frye, King, Ebert, Ream, Alter and Dickinson.

RE: Brydon Holmes Beecher
Sorry, but he was not missing, he was just unclaimed. He was in storage with other unclaimed cremains at Valhalla Cemetery and his parents were over at Oak Grove in storage with the unclaimed cremains there.

The picture of his urn is from the Veteran service held on Memorial day, 2015. The Missing in America Project provided all the urns and name plates for the Veterans, as they were all in original cremation boxes.

He and his parents are some of the many unclaimed cremains, that were inventoried and added to Find a Grave in hopes of finding relatives to claim them and give them a final resting place. In addition, we began researching all the unclaimed specifically for Veterans, knowing that we could have them placed at Jefferson Barracks, with a full Military Honors burial. So all of the hundreds of unclaimed were researched. In coordination With the Missing in America project, the Veterans cremains and some spouses were taken out of storage and given Full Military Honors burials.

Susan Ing started the project and then Elaine & I joined in, because it was such a large project and it was the right thing to do.

Here is an article about the burials

This is not the only service that we have had. We have had services for over 100 Veterans and qualifying dependents in the last 2 years.

Photo of Luther Carter
Luther is my GGGrandfather.
I would love a high resolution copy of this photo so I could make an ornament/keepsake out of it for my sisters. Thank you if you can help me.

Heather from VA
Moses Trussell in Asbury Cemetery
Hi,

I'm descended from a Moses Trussell in the Loudoun County, VA area. I know he had a son named Bayliss (married in 1834 to A. Chamblin), who had a son named James.

Not sure if this Moses might be my Moses or not, haha. I'm not sure when Bayliss's father was born, but Ancestry lists Bayliss's mother as an Edna Shipman also.

Didn't see Bayliss connected to your Moses, so I was just wondering if you thought they might be the same, but the age difference of the siblings would be extreme.

Family research is confusing, haha.

Thanks!

Oh yes, good ole' S&B. I will give it a look the next time I go--I live locally and visit the cemetery quite often.

I'm so excited to the pictures you have of some of my Dabney family. John Overton & Eliza (Day) Dabney are my 3rd great grandparents. Thanks so much for putting them on findagrave.
