Miss my brother, R.S.M., every day!!|
I try to complete the photographing of each cemetery before moving on (almost 100% of the pages I have posted are info. from the photos I take). Good luck to everyone finding their loved ones!
Please DO NOT take my pictures of people/family and post them on other sites without my permission. I am seeing all of my family pictures posted all over by people who aren't related and have no idea who they are. (Every one has shown up all over on Ancestry)
I DO post "unknown" when a name isn't known. I do this from the cemetery photos I take. I go back, when I can, and try to find info on all the ones I post. These need to be left on the site so people can see who else is in the cemetery. I have seen MANY errors on names and dates when they were posted from a list. Much better to say "unknown" than have wrong info posted...
** Please do not post scanned obituaries, death certificates, or census records to the pages I add. If you have an obit. you want pertinent info. added from, feel free to send it to me. Also NO DUPLICATE headstone pictures, they will be removed.
** I do not post entire obits on my pages. My family and many others do not care for all that on our pages so I post the pertinent info: names, dates, occupations, and I link family members whenever I can. There are many more complaints about find a grave because entire obits are being posted than any other reason.
I also DO NOT post pages for LIVING Persons on here. *** Guidelines say NOT TO unless it is YOURSELF or a FAMOUS PERSON with a headstone in place.
**I do not link pages to "unknown" pages where there is just a name and no idea when or where a person passed on and where they are buried. I put the names that are pertinent in the bio area.

Thanks Deb for all your help. I'm going to try and get to the Hollenback cemetery for my Davidson relatives on my way to the Secor cemetery to photograph our Tribbey family.

Hello Deb. Thank you for what you have done for my mother, Olga M. "Dolly" Swanson. You entered into info on her Record on Mar 08, 2015, Find A Grave Memorial# 143467310.
I added three photos to her Record: her updated gravestone (after her DOD was added, a Weimann Community Cemetery header and a photo of my parents on their wedding day.
The obit/bio info on my Mom needs to be updated. The info on the memorial donations is spot on. Also the link to my father, Gordon Swanson.
But the obit info is spotty, missing DOB and other info. For example, lists my sister Becky and I plus our late brother Tommy, but misses our brother, Kim Allen Swanson, who lives about 1 mile from the cemetery. Can I provide an updated obit that either you or I can add.
I am new at updating Find a Grave data and have read your info. I am going to reread and adapt them. Again, thank you for your help. Susan Swanson Sommars

Thanks, Deb! I appreciate you helping me get the memorial information right. I noticed the memorial bio for John Birket still has Eliza Jane listed as his daughter, when she was actually his sister. If you could remove that wrong info, that would be great. :)
Thanks, also, for adding to John's bio and Margaret's bio that they were the children of William A. Birkett and Margaret Barrick. Maybe in the future, that will help stop people linking them as married.
I have been researching the Barrick and Birkett lines for 20 years now, and as you can imagine, there is a lot of misinformation about both families online. I'm hoping that by having the correct info on Find-A-Grave, it will help stop some of the confusion and lead to people correcting their trees.

Deb, thanks for replying. I haven't been able to find an actual address to plug into my GPS but I think the maps has longitude and latitude listed just have to figure out how to plug that into the phone. My dads family were from Illinois but I'm a California girl, from the Bay Area so I now how to plug in an address, guess it might be time to learn a new trick. I'm only going to be passing through, hence my desire to contact the farmer in advance. If there out for the day I will lose my chance to visit, hopefully I can catch someone home. The cemetery lists a few family members but only Ira and Leuwn have photos of their headstones. I know it was awhile ago the you visited the cemetery but any chance you remember if there were headstone that perhaps you just didn't get time to photograph? Do you know if there is some sort of plaque with names and plot diagram? Thank for posting Ira's headstone photo it really means a lot to be able to find his final resting place.

Hi, my GGGrandfather was Ira H Davidson. Thank you for posting the photo of his head stone. I am going to be passing through and would like to visit his grave. Can you tell me how to get permission to visit the cemetery. It's on private property and I'm not sure how to locate the land owner. It looks like there is a river that must be crossed, is there some kind of bridge. I will be in a rental car so 4-wheeling won't be an option.

Thanks, Deb, for the transfer. You always do such nice work and have high standards for all to follow. I am now fetching some photos for posting on the site also. Thank you.

Carol Dorward, Washington Historical Society gave me a location for Martin Henry Cassell in the Glendale Cemetery, Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois in a letter in 2008:
Martin H. Cassell
February 17, 1849 to August 10, 1887
(He died in the Chatsworth Train Wreck). I have a copy of the book.
I was unable to locate him on the cemetery website. Do you have any information?

Thank you so much for the work you do! Without you, I would have never been able to find my husbands grandmother! He was a small child when she died, estranged from his Mother (her only child) who didn't know when she died or where she was buried. It's just wrong to have family out there and have no idea where they are. Thanks to you we know where she is.
Thank you so much!!!

I may still have that pic, but am currently OOT and it would be stored on my home computer. Will let you know when we get home, which won't until about mid April. Hope that is OK.
