| Bio and Links |
I'm in the process of updating and creating links for all my memorials. It takes time. If someone brings my attention to one, I will complete it as much as possible. I am also posting obituaries that I have accumulated.
THANK YOU to the Find-a-Grave administration for creating this site; and the untold hours spent monitoring it. Find a Grave seems to bring out the worst or the best in folks. I've seen both sides.
The few lines written in an obituary will determine importance and success by some. Every person has a story that happened during that "dash" between birth and death - education, military, marriage, children, sometimes divorce; happy times and not so happy moments. This is such a wonderful place to create memorials honoring their lives. If we don't all work together to keep records as correct as possible; we may be changing history.
We all have our memories of those who have gone before, don't let those memories make you sad; keep them close to your heart because those memories are what keep them near to us. They live on, as long as they are remembered.
~~~~~~~ When sending a suggestion for sharing bio information, please INCLUDE A SOURCE. If no source is included that can be verified, the suggestion will be posted as a note.
Per "Help with Find A Grave": The goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it.
PERSONAL REQUEST: Please do not post death certificates to my memorials. They look tacky, and do not show respect to the life of that individual. Most that I have found posted are from online websites, which is against Find a Grave policy. per Find a Grave guidelines found in "Help with Find A Grave": No screen shots from other websites. No obituary photographs. No scans of obituaries or newspaper articles.
TRANSFERS REQUESTS MUST USE THE EDIT TAB - "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" feature on the memorial page AND INCLUDE YOUR CONTRIBUTOR ID NUMBER. This is to guarantee they go to the correct person. (I had a request from "Cathy", there are over 2500 Cathy's as Find a Grave contributors.)
Due to an ever-growing population of Find-a-Grave members; I will no longer be transferring anyone that is in my Family Tree unless they are your direct relation (per Find a Grave guidelines found in "Help with Find A Grave"). This includes most of my memorials in Bollinger County, MO and Oregon County, MO and many in Howell County, MO.
Veteran records may be from Nationwide Gravesite Locator. The MO Death certificates referenced may be found at MO Death Certificates, 1910–1962 OBITUARIES of PERSONS BURIED in OLD UNION CEMETERY, LAWSON, MO is a book of mostly photographed obituaries, collected and compiled by Shirley (Clevenger) Nolker May/2006.
