Bio and Links
Bio Photo This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

Dubuque Co. FAG
Good evening Cheryl, I am a Vermont civil War researcher, and my present project is to help find the burial locations of many of our Vt. soldiers/sailors. I have found six of them in Dubuque Co., which you have posted photo's for. I am contacting you to ask if you would give your permission to post them on the Vermont Civil War Site. Of course, you would get credit for them.
You may find it interesting to browse the site " vermont civil war.org". Lots to read, view & learn

Thank you for any consideration you may offer me.

I may have given you the wrong info because the john I was needing was born in 1813 and died 1881 who was married to Mary Ann Falker #77084019 she was born in 1814 and dies in 1888 I hope I did not mess this up

RE: duplication
by the way, I finished up Mt. Calvary- put in photos for every non photographed legible stone. And some did get double pictures. Often I worked off a list of names done by the Phoenix group that was transcribed several years ago. For every section Phoenix had about 10% more names than I found stones for. It is like there used to be a stone but now it is gone or illegible. strange

RE: duplication
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to complain. When a person puts in 100's of transcriptions with the "new" Find A Grave photo transcription feature, there is no way to know if there is a current picture already there. Often a second picture is added. I am open to suggestions.

Thanks for getting me the photo of his gravestone. I was wondering though if his and his brothers George's gravestone are together since you have the same headstone for both of them in the photos you addedm to both of their entries on this website? Other than that thanks for getting them both.

Thank You!!
I just want to thank you so much for the photos of Dennis, and Elizabeth Sullivan's tombstones. I can now add them to my collection on Ancestry.com. I appreciate the time you spent in the search. I tried to find some family members in that cemetery last time I visited Dubuque, and was overwhelmed in a sea of stones. I had no idea the cemetery was so big. Again Thank you!
