I'm a "Taphophile" from way back. I like nothing better than wandering around old cemeteries on an afternoon. I've recently begun trying to find all of the cemeteries in the North Metro Atlanta area(Check out http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=114736229848276250549.0004605d64f84317598c5&ll=33.952474,-84.424438&spn=1.12091,1.766052&z=9). I recently found an old African-American cemetery that has been almost completely swallowed by a forest. It's been really rewarding to find cemeteries that have obviously been completely forgotten by society. I would be glad to try to find graves for anyone in the North Metro Atlanta area.|

Please correct the date of death on this memorial from the grave photo. Thanks!

I added a photo for this memorial and it looks like the DOB is a typo. Please see the photo and correct the DOB to April 29, 1890.

Hi Barry, my name is Thomas F. Smith, grandson of B. F. Smith #34383278 and Arizona S. Smith #34383340 buried at Harrell Grove Baptist Church in Chamblee. I would appreciate your transferring these two memorials to my account smithfield1962 so I can link them, thanks.

|ItsAllGraveE||Bethel AME Cemetery on Trickum|
I sent an Email to Allen Temple AME church on Arnold Mill Rd.
I got a reply:
Thank you for your note regarding the abandoned AME cemetery on Trickum Road in Woodstock.
It is our understanding that cemetery belonged to Bethel AME church when it was in existence; and after it burned down, the church moved to another location.
Unfortunately, Bethel AME Church is no longer in existence. However, we will forward your note to the Board of Trustees for the 6th Episcopal District
so they can make a determination on how to maintain the property if it is owned by the AME church.
In the meantime, your suggestion to enlist the help of local Eagle Scouts to do some clean up sounds like a wonderful service project.
Thanks again for your interest in the maintenance of this cemetery.

(I am really excited about this! Those people deserve respect to their final resting place. I'll keep you posted)

Thanks :-) I am new at this. I saw it on my local request page and swung by.
I stopped by L.R. Methodist cemetery and found it. I snapped a pic.
