Salem Seventh Day Adventist Church
The name is above and there is already a photo of his marker. It is a lovely cemetery and had just been mowed. The other one is a "Davidian" church and there is a large branch of Davidians that live up the road. I understand that they broke off from the others. So, hard to believe in this little town of Salem that there are TWO Seventh Day Adventist churches. Glad we got it straight. I have other photos if you would like to see them.

RE: San Pedro, et al
If everyone was an Ann, Find A Grave would be so much easier to work in. Thank you for taking care of them so quickly.

Ann, you have been great with accepting and adding. I really do not have strong ties to this county, but often spend time digging for older obits. I know the information is helpful to family and to researchers. I hope to send more and more!! lol...

RE: Josephine Bruce
I've added a photo for Josephine that is similar to yours--if you'd rather keep yours, I will delete mine. I also have a similar one for Samuel--very similar to the one posted by another contributor.
I do not live in Iowa Falls and so far most of my efforts have been on photography and transcribing, so I'm not sure what local resources may be available. I'm guessing that the local library has bound volumes of old newspapers and may check that out when the weather gets colder. Their web site also mentions some genealogy resources but they appear to be available only to library card holders. There is a little information on the site, but I didn't find anything related to Bruces.

RE: Nanti Thomas
Thank you. I am learning about all this and doing research on to take my family history back through all four grandparents--mom and dad for my mom as well as my dad.

RE: Samuel & Josephine Bruce
Sorry, I don't have anything other than gravestone photos very similar to what you have already. I'm trying to photograph the whole cemetery and have found only three Bruces: Samuel, Josephine, and an infant Lizzie, born before Samuel. They also are the only Bruces listed in this cemetery on a transcription done by an Iowa Falls group several years ago, and available online through There are about a half dozen Bruces in other Hardin cemeteries on Find A Grave, but none that are obviously related.

RE: Pickels Obits
Once again, I thank you so much for seeing to all these additions. Glad you are aware of the difference in spelling cause you will make sense of them all better.

RE: Mason Adams
I rechecked the Duval Property Appraiser list since you sent me the link with an address. From the looks of it he must be alive as that link has him at 68 years old. If he was dead it would not show an age. So unless he has died in the past 7 or 8 months he is still living. If he had died his obit would have been on the web. I am sure he is on someone's list to contact and let them know about the reunion 904- 880-1353 is the phone # listed.
