I was introduced to Geneology in 1980. Thanks, Aunt Kathy Dean! I've been addicted ever since. |
The TOMBSTONE and LOT pictures I have placed are yours to use for other geneological purposes to include other sites. Let me know if you would like me to go take better ones or if you want to place yours, is fine.
This site is not called "Find-a-Document".
Documents take up what limited space there is for photographs of the PERSON, HOUSE, or tombstone and grave area. Please respect the memorials I manage and resist posting copied paperwork or certificates to where the photographs belong.
Find-A-Grave would not be of much use to researchers if it were not for it's members creating memorials beyond their own familys and they should & do get transfered upon request. If I have created a memorial of your family member, it was with great respect and the hope that someday you will find it and want it transfered to you. If the person is your family, I prefer you manage the memorial. USE edit functions on THE MEMORIALS please, not my Email, not this Bio. page. Let me know if I can help or if you have some corrections, requests, additional info., links, ect., PLEASE use "EDIT" tabs located on upper right side of each memorial for all these things.
I love to place different kinds of flowers, flags, & things on memorials. BRIGHT RED FLOWERS indicate my family, relatives and V.I.P.'s. I won't usually transfer the memorials with RED FLOWERS unless you are a closer relation than myself AND I see you are an experienced, active and dedicated Find-a-Grave member.
My goal is for everyone in my favorite 3 cemeterys be accounted for and have a nice memorial on Find-A-Grave. We ALL share these memorials and officialy Find-A-Grave "OWNS" them, we only create and maintain, note the bottom left of each memorial says "Created by: or Maintained by:". We are a huge team, working together on this amazing project. As I keep this in mind, I am THRILLED to transfer memorials. Thank you for your time and any help or corrections you can send!!!! !
My family -back 3 generations: DEAN, WARREN, BUMPUS, CASTERLINE, STREBY, SHANNON, WARNER, SMITH, ROWE, TOWNSEND, BUCKMASTER, WEBB, MILLS, STINEMETZ.

Hi, again! I put together all his 1947 yb photos and made a little picture, which I posted on his memorial earlier. I just received a large scan of his Kenyon College application photo, so I posted that as well. So, you can save them if you'd like off of his memorial. Also, if you'd prefer to only have one, just let me know! But now you can see them. :o)
|JPlambeck||Benjamin Dean b.1777|
I went looking and have come up with a gap in parish records from 13 Nov 1775-21 Dec 1790. In the area I examined there appears to be a brother of Benjamin b.1739 while down the road a bit I located where two nephews (Benjamin and Moses) of his were stationed. Finally, the British were active south of Cornwall in 1777. That gives several reasons to be in that area of NY in 1777. Will continue to look.

Thank You very much for your kind message.
Right now I need to get a printer and look and
see if I can find any photos.
I lost many of my photos while I lived in the basement of my Daughter and Son-in-Law.
I lived there for five years and got flooded out twice.
I will have to see if I have any photos that
I can send, some of my photos may still be packed away since I moved here at the middle of Last August.
I did take some of both sides of Dad's Monument
After it was set.
Dad died in 2001 and I tried to get my brothers and sisters to have us all put in several hundred dollars apiece so we could place a Grave stone on his grave, I figured with the five of us it would only cost us several hundred apiece.
They all said they couldn't afford it.
Every night as I lay down to sleep I thought of him lying in an unmarked Grave next to Mom.
Five years later I retired and used my severance pay to purchase a stone for him.
I went to a small Privately owned monument
shop in the engravers back yard and had him make the stone.
He took me out to his yard and let me pick out the piece of marble I wanted.
Dad being a veteran of the Navy during WWII
I wanted it on his stone so that the veteran's
would always place a flag on his grave.
I also had his home state carved with his birth date and Ohio with his date of death. On the back
the last verse from Robert Louis Stevenson's " The
Requiem", Since He loved the Navy, Hunting and Fishing, It Seemed to be a fitting verse.
Dad had said there was no point to just living and not being able to Hunt or Fish any longer.
Since I was paying for it I thought I will have it done the way I felt would suit him.
The rest of the family also liked the stone when they saw it,So I was glad of that.
I saw the monument after getting the notice from the Engraver that the stone was set upon his Grave.
I went to see it and was really impressed by it
it was carved and engraved exactly as I had imagined it should look.
When I got home I got a Card to send the
Engraver and thanked him, telling him I was very pleased.
I took photos of it and decorated His grave the grave of my mother and my Grandparents and other near by family members,(My Aunt on the other side of Dad and several others in their graves in other parts of the cemetery.
That night I went home and for the first time in years I slept like a baby, and have ever since.
Are you a ancestor of Homer Bigbee/Anna R. Kirby? I wonder because of the portrait(s)of them on your memorial. I am the 3x great grand-daughter of Anna's Mother Lydia Berkley Kirby.
