When I was a child, I thought my mother was crazy when she would stop at an "interesting" cemetery where she knew no one. She explained that she simply enjoyed reading the old stones because each represented someone with a story.|
Now I totally understand her inclinations and have become a total cemetery junky!
I also LOVE genealogy and research the following family names:
My bio picture was taken as I was totally entangled in weeds and vines, climbing up a steep embankment in Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville, OH. I had gone down to investigate a couple markers that had fallen over the edge!

Thank you for the transfer

Thank you for posting Frank Granger grave location. I have been looking for his burial for years as family did not know where he disappeared until the local newspaper said he had died in Michigan in 1894. Great work you do.
|Betty Frank||Morton Tice|
I just added the obit to Jared Tice which indicated Morton was his son. I made the link request by using the edit tab;)
This may be the infant known to have died Oct. 7, 1947 and buried Oct. 10, 1947 in Luzerne. Name and sex unknown. Maybe in the future more facts will cleared.
|Jim Downing Brady||The Mastin Husbands were Brothers!|
Before I cruise into the rest of my day, I was just curious enough to do some extra digging for info, & sure enough, Charles F. & Herbert J. Mastin (the two Husbands who married Viletta & Sarah), WERE BROTHERS!

Hi again, Judith...While researching another family on find-a-grave, I came across another of the Gunnett kids, Sarah (although clearly one of your Gunnetts, her maiden name is spelled incorrectly)...my edit request for her to be connected up with her parents is now pending...what somewhat took me by surprise is that apparently two of the Gunnett girls married a Mastin, although I presently don't know how closely the two Mastin Husbands were related...Regards
|Jim Downing Brady||By way of making up for my mistake !|
Judith, just a suggestion, but what do you think about referencing Susanna by putting "Nogle" in the maiden name box, & putting "Gunnett Marks" in the last name box? Again, my goal is always to make it easier for others in future to find someone, especially when they might not be armed with the info you & I are aware of...probably the only way to know for sure is to try it, & then see whether a search for Susanna using only Gunnett or Marks still finds her entry (I have with some success used the maiden name inclusion function for find-a-grave)...I will most definitely be interested in the outcome, should you decide to give it a try...also be aware that Susanna had multiple siblings, but I just don't have time right now to deal with them...Regards
|Jim Downing Brady||Apologies for prior mistaken message|
OOPS!!! My apologies for my mistake just made, sending you a message regarding the Marks, that was instead needing to be sent elsewhere...Just goes to show that doing anything too quickly is usually not a good idea...as I suspect you are already aware, one of the most common mistakes I routinely run into is kids' parentage getting confused when there are multiple marriages due to a spouse dying...Hope you are successful in finding Carrie Belle...Regards with my sincere apologies
|Jim Downing Brady||Your Kin|
Hi, Judith...Assuming your goal is the same as the rest of ours, to be as accurate as possible, so that future generations/genealogists are not left to wonder what the heck we were thinking, might I suggest that you straighten out Susanna's homepage, because you have all of Matilda's kids attributed to Susanna, & Matilda having no kids at all? Also, assuming you are already aware, Matilda/James had another daughter, Carrie Belle, who was born 7 July 1883, & died 3 July 1884...not sure if you have yet discovered her final resting place, but its a relatively good bet she's not going to be that far away from her folks, & maybe a check with the cemetery's records where the rest of the Marks are interred would shed some light...if I am coming across as a stickler, you're right, but its all with the goal of showing appropriate respect for those who have come before, while at the same time realizing that we all are not going to be around forever to explain ourselves...Regards
