I am the oldest son of Wilbur James Priest and Rose Louise Cupps. I was born and raised in the Toledo, Ohio area. I have been doing genealogy research since I was about 9 years old. |
I am a member of:
GCS - Genealogy by Computer Society of Toledo
LCCOGS - Lucas County Chapter OGS
NGS - National Genealogy Society
OGS - Ohio Genealogical Society, serving as a Trustee
APG - Association of Professional Genealogists
I am a frequent speaker at local, regional, and national society meetings and seminars.
I am doing a one name study and have done extensive research on the surname Priest. I am currently preparing an interactive CD and a multi-volume book which will exceed 4,800 pages on the Priest family when it is released. My direct line ancestors came from Wales and settled in Virginia, then later moving to Licking County, Ohio.
I am also researching my other paternal line - Ankney/Ankeny and my maternal lines - Cupps and Schumacher.
Please feel free to contact me with additional information or corrections.

Thanks for linking the four sons' Find A Grave memorials to Oliver Perry Kelly memorial at Goodrich Cemetery.
I have a correction for Alma Warner #38445553. Her Maiden name is was Priest, she was daughter of Samuel and Melissa Priest.
Her husband William C Warner is also in Cedar Hill Cemetery Memorial #47832764, if you would like to link them together. I have their obits if you would like a copy.

Many thanks, William, for finding the death certificate for Cordelia/Cordia Ladd Priest and uploading it to her memorial earlier in the week. In my email inbox, your message looked like one of the copies of my own out-going SACs, and I missed it until today. I'd bet anything I looked for that death certificate myself, but I must not have found it -- possibly because I would have been looking for Cordelia instead of Cordia. It shows why it's so great when we can work _together_ on Find A Grave. Sometimes four eyes are better than two. ~ Jay

Find A Grave Memorial# 38798170
This article states his wife's maiden name as Susan Ellen Hupp.
On Susan Ellen Priest's page , you have her maiden name listed as Susan Ellen Nichols. Which one is correct or was she married to a Nichols first? Thanks

I have gladly added the information to Rosetta's memorial. Thank you for supplying it.

This memorial updated also. I don't like to assume relationships that I don't know for sure. Someone created a memorial for one of my ancestors and they had them linked to her brother as her spouse, LOL! Most of the time I research the peple in my memorials to link family members in the same cemetery but I just added the Priest memorials the other night and haven't got to it, yet. Thank you!

I linked Edson Priest's parents to him and added Otsego Co. to his birth and death events, per your request. If you'd like transfers just let me know. I am no relation but I like to add memorials to the small, older, usually family cemeteries, that seem to be often "forgotten" in time...
I did not find a wife for Edson in this cemetery. He is buried with his parents and three of his children that died very young. Sad.

I've made the requested updates, but if you would like me to transfer this memorial to you please let me know.

Thank you for the additional information. PTL that Warren is still alive. I did not make a memorial for him I only mentioned that he was listed on the headstone so that makes my statement correct. He is not buried there.
