Bio and Links
Bio Photo Transfers: I will transfer ownership to direct descendants within four generations - the same as Find A Grave guidelines. Otherwise, I'm happy to add to memorials and make links, just click on the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial, then click on "Suggest a correction or provide additional information". Be sure to give me the other person's ID number when requesting links.

One line of my ancestors (CROSE) lived in Tippecanoe Co., IN in the 1820s. Some of their cousins lived in the next county to the south, Boone, and some south of that in Hendricks Co. I live in northern Hendricks Co., and am taking photos mostly in Boone and Hendricks, including the older, more difficult to read stones. Hopefully, these photographs will be around longer than the headstones. Many are on the verge of not being readable - even with the sun at a good angle and using tricks to bring out the text.

Since I've been doing genealogy research for a number of years, I can see a real benefit in seeing headstones, rather than relying on a transcription. To me, the important thing is to be able to read the inscription (names & dates, child of ...), but not really the verse below it. It's also important to know who is buried next to who. I'll mention that if I notice a connection.

Cemeteries that are completed - meaning that I photographed everything and have posted all that was readable. Other transcriptions may have more names.
Beck - Bethel (Boone Co.) - Bethel (52nd St Indy) - Browns Wonder - Jones -
Lowry -Macedonia - Mintonye - Mt Union -
Mt. Zion - North Branch - Oak Hill (Sect 1-30, 34N & 34S) - Pleasant Hill (Indy) -
Pleasant View (Dover) - Poplar Grove - Prebster - Old Union Church - Richland - Robison - St. Malachy West - Salem -
Sparks - Taylor - Trotter (I can only find 33 of the 64 markers) - Weaver - Zionsville

I currently use a 10M Canon Powershot camera which will take pictures at 3648 x 2736 pixels. Normally I reset the resolution to 2272 x 1704 and then on the computer, especially with worn headstones, I turn up the contrast 20-30%, and lower the brightness 5-10% and keep the compression at 98 to 99%. When I started posting for Find a Grave, the photo file size limit was 250 KB, then 350, 500, 750, 2000 3000 and now 8000 KB. I use photo editing software that I downloaded for free - it's much better than what Canon or Olympus gives you with their camera. With Photoscape I know the file size before I save the file.

If you are not related to her would you consider transferring Eglantine to me? She is my 3rd great grandmother.

Mary Elizabeth Niederman Schwenn Schwab
Hi Marc-
I just created, hopefully with success, my first contribution. He is John Frederick Schwenn my 2nd great grandfather. His wife Mary Elizabeth Niederman Schwab already is memorialized. Find A Grave Memorial# 104968710. She is not linked with either of her two husbands. I would like to link her especially to John Schwenn but did not succeed.
He is the father of her children.
I would like also to link her with her second husband, Peter Schwab. They did not have children together but her son Ferdinand married Peter's daughter Carrie. Eventually I would like to link her children to them.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. As always your work is of enormous help to many family history searchers.
Many thanks,
Betsy Kolkoski

Adam Russell Walker # 36715767
Marc, I'm not sure if you, or "dancing with ghosts" added the biographical data to Adam Russell Walker's memorial. However I have to tell you that the data concerning the War of 1812 history belongs, instead to Adam Walker, 1786-1818. He was a brother to my Walker ancestor. He was born in Worcester, MA, and died in Boston. Take a look at his memorial, #154146197. I am trying to reach "Dancing with Ghosts".
I have a copy of the journal Adam wrote of his experiences during the Tippecanoe campaign, and the frontispiece page gives his name and birth and death dates. I do hope this mistake can be corrected. I have noted that already someone has copied this data to one of the Public Member trees on Ancestry. WALKER is a very common surname, and there are other mistakes that have been made on the internet.
Please get back to me with any questions you might have. JWR jwritter@aol.com

Hi Marc. The above Find A Grave was created first, but as Burial Unknown and lacks the photos and info on yours which was created about 4 mo. later, #96207481, as a duplicate. Not sure if first Adm. would be willing to delete his? I have bio that could be added when there is ONE record. Hope this can be resolved.
Thanks. Mary #47834805
