Bio and Links
Bio Photo Transfers: I will transfer ownership to direct descendants within four generations - the same as Find A Grave guidelines. Otherwise, I'm happy to add to memorials and make links, just click on the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial, then click on "Suggest a correction or provide additional information". Be sure to give me the other person's ID number when requesting links.

One line of my ancestors (CROSE) lived in Tippecanoe Co., IN in the 1820s. Some of their cousins lived in the next county to the south, Boone, and some south of that in Hendricks Co. I live in northern Hendricks Co., and am taking photos mostly in Boone and Hendricks, including the older, more difficult to read stones. Hopefully, these photographs will be around longer than the headstones. Many are on the verge of not being readable - even with the sun at a good angle and using tricks to bring out the text.

Since I've been doing genealogy research for a number of years, I can see a real benefit in seeing headstones, rather than relying on a transcription. To me, the important thing is to be able to read the inscription (names & dates, child of ...), but not really the verse below it. It's also important to know who is buried next to whom. I'll mention that if I notice a connection.

Cemeteries that are completed - meaning that I photographed everything and have posted all that was readable. Other transcriptions may have more names.
Beck - Bethel - Browns Wonder - Jones
Lowry -Macedonia - Mintonye - Mt Union
Mt. Zion - North Branch - Oak Hill (Sect 1-29, 34N & 34S) - Pleasant Hill (Indy)
Pleasant View (Dover) - Poplar Grove - Prebster - Old Union Church - Richland - Robison - St. Malachy West - Salem
Sparks - Taylor - Trotter (I can only find 33 of the 64 markers) - Weaver - Zionsville

I currently use a 10M Canon Powershot camera which will take pictures at 3648 x 2736 pixels. Normally I reset the resolution to 2272 x 1704 and then on the computer, especially with worn headstones, I turn up the contrast 20-30%, and lower the brightness 5-10% and keep the compression at 98 to 99%. When I started posting for Find a Grave the file size limit was 250 KB, then 350, 500, 750, 2000 3000 and now 8000 KB. I use photo editing software that I downloaded for free - it's much better than what Canon or Olympus gives you with their camera. With Photoscape I know the file size before I save the file.

RE: Marie Miller Hollingsworth

So neat, Yes right on the corner of 79th and Zionsville Road on the North East Corner.
She with her husband and sons ran a big farm there before they started building park 100, after Marie passed her sons still ran the farm until the developers finally bought the farm for a large sum. I have many memories from that old farm, Way down the tractor road behind the old house was all kinds of old cars, trucks and farm equipment they would just pull back there when they quit or could not be repaired. I was young helping push the corn out of the silo and was attacked by a swarm of bees, gosh i was in pain and set on the tractor for along time in the shade, my uncle had put mud on all the stings.
Beautiful old house and I loved to go there to visit Marie,She was such a kind person. I have a real old wind up music box that belonged to her and that was given to me when I was young and I still have it here on my shelf.
The photo request you took for me Myron Dorsey also lived on Zionsville Road right past 71st street on the West side of the road, he lived there till he passed in 1999 and that was the last farm on the west side along that road, his wife was Elizabeth Hollingsworth Dorsey, and her aunt was Marie Miller Hollingsworth.

So Small world and so Neat you work where she ounce lived.

Thanks So Much Marc, You made my day!

Hi Marc,
Maxine and my Mom were 1st cousins so I have more information on Maxine than I want to type twice. Could I have her memorial, and her Husband, Bob Stevens so I can add the additional info My #47291663. By the way , if you look closely at their marker you will see that I drew the picture that Maxine had etched on the stone when Bob died. They are in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, IN

Your making of memorials very much appreciated. I especially like seeing the photos of the markers of the graves of my rather distant relatives in Danville South.

I would like to ask for your permission to use those photo (and others you may have taken of gravestones of my ancestors) in my family tree on Because the photographer has a copyright for each photo, I always ask before using a photo on another web site. I will, of course, put your name as the photographer and the web site of the memorial(s) as the source.

Thank you for considering my request,
