Please use the SAC function (edit button on memorial) to request transfers, and be sure to let me know specifically how you are related.|
I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, and am working on photo-documenting the whole cemetery. At this point, I prefer not to transfer memorials for this cemetery (other than mandatory transfers, of course) because my research is ongoing. In the meantime, please feel free to send me as much additional info as you wish via the edit button on the memorial.
NOTE: Obituaries are a wonderful source of information, but findagrave has rules about how they may be used. You can always glean facts from them for the bio. If they are out of copyright, or if you hold the copyright, you can transcribe them. Regardless of who has the copyright, you are not supposed to post them as a photograph - regardless of whether you scanned it, took a screen shot, or downloaded it from another website. Please feel free to send me obit text via the edit function, and I will use the info to add to the bio. Obits posted as photos will be removed, and it just ends up wasting your time.

I know what you mean about the burials as have another Nethery relative buried in Virginia. Thanks for the reply.
|J Chaknova||RE: More about Elizabeth Wallace|
Oh it's the wrong person, then. I was thinking that rather than create another memorial, this was the person for whom I was looking. I based it on the fact that this was a close match and the grave is near where Elizabeth Wallace's last Census Record was recorded. In the 1870 Census, I found a person living in the household of Bradford W Willis who was indexed as "Wallan" but (faded image) it's "Wallace." And Elizabeth H Willis married Joseph Wallace (and was Bradford's mother-in-law). Elizabeth's daughter, Martha (a.k.a. Patsy Roberts in the 1860 Census and living with her parents in Georgia after evidently her marriage to James Roberts ended) started out as Martha Wallace, then Martha Roberts, then Martha Willis.

I see - was not aware of that preference. Will accept your input and find a way to let family know. Thanks. Donna #48515329

Thank you for the input. It is correct that she died as "Rosen". We are using Finkelstein-Rosen for the present to assist family members in finding her memorial as that is how they knew her. There are no Rosen descendants from Goldie - he was a second later husband.

Thanks so much for the correct place of death. I like my information to be as true to fact as possible. Also, the obituary link. Our family have none left that could pass on these historical facts, so again much appreciated. Donna Member #48515329

Hello. I just found the memorial you created for Thomas Scott at Oakland Cemetery, who died during the Civil War. What a surprise!! May I please have your permission to include your pictures in my family records? Credit for the source would be included, and copies would be for personal use, not for publication or posting elsewhere on the internet. Thank you very much!

My documentation was from a genealogy page I came acrosssed. I only made the suggestion because of your note. I was actually quite hesitant on making the suggestion then decided to just let you know of the other date and let you decide.

I'm going over today to see if I can find it.
