Do you think the photo you have appended for Samuel was taken during the same time as the photo of his sibling group and mother in the large sinkhole on a plateau or mountain that looks on to Chimney Rock?
His clothing and hat look the same.
The latter photo can be viewed at UW American Heritage Center.
My last question is: who is the man in the latter photograph?
...just a passing interest.
That may be the fastest transfer in the history of Find-A-Grave.

I just traced it back to Richard Knight dob 1/14/1603 and his wife Sarah( Rogers ) Knight who had an uncle on the Mayflower. I am a Gr. Grandson of Willis. Ron Shaffer

I have apparently made quite a mistake and I sincerely apologize.
This Henry could very well be a relative, but not Henry Clayton who died in Oklahoma. 2 cousins who have researched much longer than I have, have no info that his body was taken to Georgia to be buried, and they don't believe this is him.
Again, I apologize.
Thank you for all the work you do on Findagrave.
P.S. If I could figure out how to remove the message I would, but I can't.
|Roger Whiting||Bessie Knight|
I saw your request for a headstone picture of Bessie Knight. I live in Mill Valley, so I thought there would be no problem.
Called the cemetery this morning; they said there is good and bad news. Bessie is buried there, but she's located in the old section that was started by the original owners, it's now in disrepair due to a fire and numerous changes in ownership through the years. Fallen eucalyptus trees, poison oak, and just over grown.
Sorry I wasn't able to help.

I just finished searching family history starting with my Great Grandfather, Willis Knight 8-29-1833 to 12-20-1905. He was the son of Philetus and Amanda ( Spillman ) Knight. He was married to Frances A. Bennett, and they are buried at Neosjo Rapids, Kansas. Ron Shaffer
|Cindy Nicholls||James & Elizabaeth Knight|
I see you have requested pictures of the tombstones of James & Elizabeth Knight.
My family members married into the Knight family in the 1880s. I have been to the cemetery where James and Elizabeth and six other members of the Knight family are buried. It is on KY 169, also called Keene Pike, in the back of an old house that used to be part of the Almahurst Horse Farm. My friends used to own that house and when I was visiting there one day in 1980, I inquired about the cemetery. My friends said it was a horse cemetery, but when I went to look, I saw it was a family graveyard. I recorded the names and dates there.
The gravemarkers for Elizabeth and James stated:
ELIZABETH F., DAUGHTER OF G. & N. KNIGHT, BORN 30 MAY 1842; DIED 5 JULY 1843 and ELIZABETH, WIFE OF JAMES KNIGHT, BORN 26 JAN 1764; DIED 22 OCT 1854 and JAMES KNIGHT, BORN 9 MAR 1750; DIED 21 OCT 1831.
My friends that used to live there have moved. I will stop buy the house and ask if I can get a photo of the gravemarkers for you.

Do you have any information on Amassa Knights siblings. Do you know if he had a brother John Augustus Knight?
Ty Gail Knights
