I became interested in genealogy 12 + years ago. Wish it had been sooner, as most of the older relatives are now gone. Makes figuring out "puzzles" alot harder. But I do enjoy the hunt. Some of the surnames I am researching are Mace, Robinson/Roberson, Hughes, Wilson and Price from mainly North and South Carolina. Check out my virtual cemeteries. If you recognize any of the names, please leave me a message. Always looking for new cousins.|
I am not related to the majority of the entries I have made. If you would like a transfer, regardless of the relationship, just ask and it will be yours. I only ask that you send a sac and please state the relationship. If there is an error in something I have posted or you have other info, just send a sac.
I will not add any current obits per Find a grave FAQs If you want to write a bio, I will be happy to add it. And if you feel that strongly about having it "as is", request a transfer. Don't make a duplicate.

Thank you very much!!
|Maryrose / JGS||Frederick Yager|
May I please request that you transfer Frederick Yager to me? I have done extensive Yager family research and just recently have visited Mountain Home. I can add a bio and more photos.
By the way, what is a "sac"? You used this term in your profile. Thank you!! Maryrose /JGS

Hello Nanax4 - I am working on the children of my 2nd G-Grandfather and was wondering if you would transfer Samuel & his wife Mary to me. I will be able to add his parents, sibs etc. and connect them.
I will also research his wife for parents, etc.
Thanks so much - you have been very busy! I live in PA so I appreciate your work very much in SC.

|Timothy Nance||RE: Furman Broadus Nance|
Hello Nana x4,
It is very confusing to say the least. Gets even more confusing when these two twins named their children the same names. Gets even crazier when Furman Nance has twin girls then another daughter then a son (my dad). One of the twin girls and the later girl marry brothers. Needless to say when I was growing up in the 50's and early 60's family reunions were confusing. The story my father always told was his paternal grand parents were not expecting twins and when the twins appeared they were at a loss for names and decided to transpose names for the twin boys. I do have photographs that when I get them scanned I will upload.
|Bobby Hughes||New Information on GWH|
I have discovered new information on George Washington Hughes. His Civil War record with the 5th SC CAV ends with him being assigned to an unmounted unit. While I was doing research I discoverd he was transfered to Compant E, 18th SC INF in 1864 and was Gen. Lee at the surrender at Appomattox.
Contact me through my e-mail listed on my Find A Grave page and we will talk some more.
|Tina||Emily Converse Bomar, Oakwood Cem. Spartanburg SC|
Hi, just wondering if you are related to these Bomars and if so could we chat by e-mail? I am wondering about the "Converse" for Emily's middle name, as I've not seen that before (Emily Caroline Sloan is what I keep coming across).
Also, do you have any documentation that George Washington went by "Washington"? In censuses he is G.W. or George W. but in his father's will he is Washington. I would need some other documentation to tie the two names together as the same person.
I am helping with some DAR papers on this line.
Please reply to firstname.lastname@example.org.

The coordinates are 34 49'35.72" N 82 01'58.56" W
The cemetery is on a dead end road called Bobcat Lane. The name of the road was changed from Shady Lane Road to Bobcat Lane. Google maps and some of the others still list it as Shady Grove. The road signs have Bobcat Lane.
Go to Google maps, do a search for the coordinates above, zoom in 4 clicks. The green arrow marks the cemetery.
If you have a problem, send me your email address and I'll email maps to you.
