I live in New Zealand and love researching family history. |
Fav Quote - In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors, 'You have a wonderful family; you would be proud of us.' How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.
It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen. The bones here are bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family. It goes to deep pride that the fathers fought, and some died to make and keep us a nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us.

Thank you for the information and heads up. And thanks again for the work you do, it is much appreciated.
I am familiar with Mary Irene McIntyre. Would it be possible to have her transferred to me also. What a great find.

I have seen the name Apiti but not familiar with it so more researching for me. Just purchased a nice large map of New Zealand so I have been highlighting all the places I come across. I did a google search of Bunnythorpe and was able to home right in on the cemetery.... so should be able to do that with Apiti / Table Flat

If you get this twice I apologize, I was right in the middle of typing this out and it disappeared.
I was sure thrilled to find my Great Grand Uncle, his wife and one child and another wife. Thank you for all you do.
I wonder if you would consider transferring these accounts to me #48609673 Sandra Gardner-Benward unless you are related in which case I would love talking with you too.

Hi, I saw yr request for Agnes McGill's grave picture. I walked the whole cemetery today and the only McGill I could find was for Rita - buried with her husband. Not sure if this was who you were searching for? Let me know if you would like to view the photo and if it's correct I can add it for you.
Thanks so much Jo for the photo's you have got for me. Very much appreciated

Hi Jo - I'm sorry I had a brain fart! I meant St Johns at Marton! I have since found reference to Olive - she is apparently incorrectly noted as FOLLETT and not Hartley and located at Plot: Block F plot 13. But I am unsure if any of the Hartley's are with her. I would very much appreciate a photo if you have the time. Thank you for your tireless work and assistance.

When we emailed last you mentioned that you were heading out to St. Stephen's, Mt. View in the future. May I please ask you to have a look for Charles Stephen Hartley and his wife Olive Frances (FOLLETT) while you are there. I would appreciate it very much.
Kindest regards, Julie
