I have been a genealogist for 27 years. I was born in Kansas and grew up in Kansas until I was a sophomore in high school. We then moved to Des Moines, Iowa where I finished high school. I have lived all over the country and traveled in 43 states. I love the history of our country and studying my families along with their friends and neighbors. I keep a huge database of families because I track them as they travel westward. I have helped many people find their ancestors because I have a gift at tracking families, so I want to share that with others. I don't always find everyone, but my percentage rate is at least 95% of the time. They call me the sleuth!! One of my friends once told me "ya can't hide from you!"|
My father was adopted in 1920 and I found our biological family in 1992 when he was 72 years old. I am willing to help adoptees try to find their families, especially the stolen children of Georgia Tann of the Tennessee Children's Home Society in Memphis, Tennessee.
I recently completed research for Hewitt Clarke's new book, "Money and Blood" and am currently doing research for another new book he's going to publish. The story features a section on the family of Filmore Johnson and his wife, Betty Levy and the self made million, Robert Johnson who started BET television, whom is a descendant of Filmore Johnson.
My paternal families
If you use any of my data all I asked is that you give me credit for my work.

|Randall Hughes||My Father's grave|
Hi Ms. Whitaker, I would like to thank you for the photo of Carper Hughes's (my father) grave stone. I live in Germany and don't get to the U.S. very much. It was nice to find the picture, again thank you very much!
|Norman Rozeff||Frank Holt|
The Wall Street Journal of 2/22-23/14 has in its book review section a review of "Dark Invasion". In it Frank Holt is mentioned.You must read this article.
It was of especial interest to me because Holt was said to work for the San Benito Water District, San Benito, Texas in 1906 as a clerk. His co-workers remembered him as "already demented at the time."
Perhaps he selected San Benito in which to hide as it was a frontier town where he could fit in without too many questions being asked.
Being a South Texas historian, writer,and amateur genealogist too,I found your detailed exposition on Frank very informative. I shall likely write up an history article on the subject and use some of your research with which I'll credit you.
Thanks for being dogged in your pursuit of knowledge and sharing it with all. I believe that this is how history should work.

How are you related to the Wells family?
|Linda Cardenas||Newman/Nunam Wells & family|
Nunam and Hariett Wells' daughter, Laura Caroline, is my ggrandmother. Her 2nd husband was Thomas Jefferson Hendricks, my maternal ggrandfather, and they are both buried in the Pollard Cemetery, Cooke Co. TX. Just a FIY.
|Patsy Marie Hurt Dentel||Fathers middle name spelled incorrect|
Re: John Whaley Hurt, born 1910, died 1985.
I noticed on the site that my father's middle name is spelled incorrect. I used the "edit" button and corrected it myself, so I hope you will accept it. I did receive a message saying it may take 2 or 3 days to approve. If you need further proof, I have documents I can forward to you. The correct spelling of his middle name is Whaley (not Waley).
Pat Dentel (born Hurt)
