I live in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada and started my genealogy hobby in 2008. That lasted for less than a year, and then I started again in the winter of 2011. I'm not a professional, but monitor, and have volunteered to answer some easy questions and requests for Medicine Hat and area. I'm a member of the Genealogical Society of Medicine Hat, here in Canada.|
I am attempting to place all my family tree research on the computer.
I love to see the photos on FIND A GRAVE, this is why I like to help with this web site. I was happy to see my grandmother's biography that someone else had made up, thus I was hooked to add the rest of my family and help others with theirs. So it's not my fault that I've become obsessed with the family history. I have a need to connect the dots. I am happy to be a part of this great web site.
My grandparents would of had a field day with all the information that is at our fingertips today? Many thanks go out to all the volunteers through the various groups, like Find A Grave that give their time to help put the family puzzles together.
Names I am researching: Harnack/Harnock or Harnick, Bennett, Court, Henry, Housley, Winslow, Proudy, and . Shields

Sophia Born Harnock is my great great grandmother.
(Caroline Sophia Harnock is my grandmother.) You show Sophia's place of death as Brantford, Ontario. I am sure that is incorrect. I believe she died in Brant Township, Bruce County, Ontario as she is buried in St. Peters Lutheran (Second) Cemetery, Brant Township, Bruce County, Ontario.
The same applies to her husband, Ernst Harnock (#99467466) as well as Elsie Harnock Grace (#94940787). I live near Brantford and have never heard about a connection to Brantford in the family. Fascinating to see the photographs. When nicer weather returns I plan to visit the cemetery.

Adelbert was incorrectly listed as Adelbelt - see grave marker (grandfather of my wife, Kathy)
|Jared Detter||Magdalena Erb Shantz|
I was wondering if you had any documentary evidence that you would will willing to share regarding Magdalena's maiden name. I've done some research on ancestry.com, and I see that people have that listed as her maiden name (as do you), but I don't see any documentation that supports that. Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm attempting to put all my mother's family graves together, and she and her mother talked about "Uncle Ote and Aunt Florence" all my life. Florence Nisewanger married Daniel Otis Bennett in Tazewell Co., IL and then moved to Ames, IA when he and his family bought farms there.
Aunt Florence's widowed mother then brought all her young children to Iowa, also; where they all married, died and are buried.
Uncle Ote died in 1924, and Florence remarried, dying in 1962. Their stones are identical and they are both buried in the Ames Municipal Cemetery, which makes me wonder if they are buried beside each other. The same person, "gravewalker", took both pictures and also set up her site, but I have no way to ask this person to transfer Aunt Florence's site to me.
If you would transfer Uncle Ote's grave to me, I will leave all the Bennett info the same. I'll just add his marriage to Aunt Florence and link him to her family with a note that she is in the same cemetery, since I can't get in touch with this person. Don't think I can link her to her family without going through the person who set her up, which is very frustrating.
They had an adopted daughter, June, who moved to California. If Mom knows her married name, I'll look for her grave in Cal. and link her back to Uncle Ote, along with any children that I can find.

|genealogy friend||Harnacks Saint Peters|
would you contact me by e-mail . I want to ask Find A Grave the easiest way to transfer all your data without screwing it up.
|genealogy friend||Ernst Harnack|
This Cemetery has been named incorrectly. It should be Saint Peters Lutheran (second ) Cemetery ( second after not before Lutheran.
I am currently having the problem rectified.

You are very welcome. It was a pleasure.
|Jean McLean||Sarah D Cain Schmuck|
Hi Dean - I am writing in regards to the grave site for Sara Schmuck. When putting in only the first and last names for Sarah Schmuck in Findagrave I find her buried in 2 different cemeteries. The first in Rosehill, Adams Co.and the second where you have her buried. In looking up the town Stuart I find it is in the county of Guthrie and not Adair. Therefore I think maybe you have the wrong cemetery for Sarah? She is my great grandmother and my records show she is buried in Rosehill cemetery as is her daughter Sarah Klingensmith.
Please let me know if I have made an error in placing her in Rosehill.

NOTE: Many cemeteries (Druid Ridge) are now asking that a relative of the deceased contact the cemetery to obtain plot, lot and grave location information, as well as inform the cemetery staff that a volunteer (Robert Stern) will be coming to take the photo of the grave marker. This helps with verifying that the deceased is buried there, makes it easier for the volunteer photographer to find the grave marker, and may help the photo volunteer gain permission to take the photo.
Druid Ridge now requires this. Send your request to:
AS SOON as you get a response, please forward it to me so I can take care of your photo request.
Sorry to bother you for this…..
