|B Riley||Regarding Stone Cemetery|
Just wanted to thank you for updating the photo of the main memorial stone for this small cemetery and to let you know that is was much appreciated. My Husband has permission from the landowner,(not a relative), to go in and keep the memorials and grounds in proper order. He started last year just prior to you seeing the improvement. He also trundled down dirt to fill in the large area that had begun to sink. There is still trimming to be done of the bushes/wild roses surrounding the fence but he has a good start. If you are in the area anytime soon, there is now a pretty good grass ground cover growing. We discovered that there is a row of unmarked, low stones to the left and slightly behind the large marker that gives us the feeling that there are other persons interred there. Unfortunately,the town has no records of any kind for this family cemetery. Thank you for our service.

Thanks Don. Since PVT O'Hare is a relative of yours would you like me to forward the research I have collected on his service?

Don. Thank you for remembering PVT James O'Hare. However, the content on his profile was written by me and originally posted on my facebook community of interest: The Long Trail: The Making of A Combat Division@27thDivisionUSA . I put a great deal of research into the soldier profile I write and would appreciate being given proper credit and attribution.

Thanks for posting the photo of Eli's headstone. I worked long and hard for nearly two years to get the Veterans to make that marker and get it placed. His marker was gone, like so many in Riverside Cemetery that have been stolen and vandalized. I wanted it placed in time for the 200th anniversary of the end of the War of 1812, as he fought in that last battle when the British surrendered. That anniversary date was on Sept. 11, 2014, but it was not until the spring of 2015 after the snow melted that it was placed.

You have done an outstanding job of photographing and linking the Monty Memorials together. I have been able to update a lot of my Monty genealogy using your Headstone Photos, Newspaper Clippings and my Monty Book "The Descendants of Jean Monty," by Jeanne R. Monty (1999). I am especially pleased with the memorial you did for my 5th Great Grandfather James "Jacques" Monty (155957997). I can't thank you enough for the tremendous job you have done!!!

Don, Thanks so much for looking for a marker. I've removed the photo request and added a note to Edward Prairie's memorial... if you'd like me to change it in any way, please let me know. I've looked for a lot of unmarked graves too, and I do appreciate your efforts! Alice
