Being raised in a small town in southeast Kansas family and friends were a very important part of my life. When I was small I loved listening to my parents and grandparents talk of family. I loved meeting older family members and listening to the stories. Even though these people are gone now they are still very much a part of my life, they taught me to nurture and value family, they guided me to become the person I am today.

My parents and grandparents were faithful in visiting cemeteries and remembering and honoring those that have passed. I guess I inherited that love. Therefore, I dedicate my work on Labette County cemeteries and family histories to my parents and grandparents. Because of them, I've gone from building a small family tree, to getting addicted to family history, to discovering Find A Grave and wanting to contribute to the cause of preserving the memory of our ancestors through these memorials. It is my hope that I can link families together and tell the stories of the pioneers who first came to the area.

NOTE: Any of the pictures that I have entered aren't bound by copyright infringement and can used in your family trees. If you have a question regarding a picture, please feel free to contact me. I will also transfer a memorial to you if they are your family (with the exception of my direct family). Should you find an error or have additional information on any of the people I have posted, e-mail me. I am always glad to make additions and corrections so that the information is as accurate as possible. It may take me a few days to make a correction, so be patient!

But most of all, thank you to all of those who have posted information and photos on Find A Grave. This is a great resource tool for all of us.

Roland and Bonnie
Thank you so much for the headstone photos.
Roland and my husband grew up and terrorized the residents in the big town of Sherman City.
I became friends with both when we all attended high school at L.C.C.H.S., Altamont.
So we go back lot of years.
Bless you, Betty

Charles P. Garst
Thank you for the information about my first cousin twice removed, Charles Phillip Garst, who died in the Philippines in 1904. My grandfather and Charles' first cousin, Peter Elvis Garst, spoke of him often.

Gideon Woodruff
Thanks for the information on where my 4th great-grandfather Gideon is buried, but find-a-grave does not have any listing for that particular cemetery. I don't dare add it until I can verify it's existence. Do you have sure knowledge that it really exists as I have not been able to verify it? Thanks again, Lorraine

Linnis Rakestraw Memorial
Margaret,
I am the granddaughter of Linnis Palm Rakestraw. I am new to Find A Grave, but have recently been told it is possible to have a Memorial transfer. I would love to have my grandmothers memorial transferred to me. I have a copy of her Obit, would love to add it to her page along with being able to tie it to other family members. She only has one other surviving grandchild and that is my sister.

If you are in agreement to do this please let me know how this can be done. I tried to e-mail you at the cox.net address, it rejected. Please e-mail me at relkins@embarqmail.com

Thanks-you for your had work and effort with the Find A Grave entries.

Amna (Henderson) Liggett
Mam,First of My name - Margaret, is David Piper

how as I am new to find a grave. Sorry to infringe on your memorial that was not my intention. I am researching Liggett genealogy
and have information you might not have. The
Name if you look closely at grave marker is
AMNA not ANNA and apparently is not a misprint
since the liggett family has the same spelling.
She married George Samuel Liggett MD on 16 Feb 1882 and she was born 19 Jan 1856 in Glasgow,Missouri and died 20 May 1923 in Little
Rock, Arkansas can you please add this to your site and let me know your relationship. Thanks
