|Bio and Links|
I recently read on another bio, "our ancestors can't tell us where they are buried, we have to find them." So true. I'm so thankful to all the volunteers that have registered the graves in their areas. My personal goal is to help register graves in my area that will hopefully help others locate the final resting places of their loved ones. |
Please remember that while FindAGrave is a great tool to use in genealogy research, the clear mission of FindAGrave is to register the graves. If you are new to FindAGrave, please click on the "Help with FindAGrave" menu selection and read the FAQ before starting.
Yellow daffodils I've placed on a memorial usually signifies a connection to me in some way.
I'm happy to transfer memorials within the FindAGrave guidelines found in the FAQ (and I'm somewhat flexible on that). To request a transfer, click the "Edit" tab on the top right of the memorial and then "Suggest a Correction" tab to send me a note requesting the transfer, indicate HOW you are related, and don't forget to provide your Member ID. I'll consider all requests, but you might want to consider building a Virtual Cemetery (see FAQ).
I'm also more than happy to provide links or add additional information on memorials. Again, click the "Edit" tab and "suggest a correction" to send this information.
A word about photos I've placed on memorials I'll gladly give you permission to use my photos if you ask me and indicate that I have granted you permission on those other websites. I have, however, found several of my photos posted on the web and in family trees on commercial sites without my permission. I have to say that I'm shocked that someone would do this without asking permission. Again, please just ask before taking anything from the memorials and posting them elsewhere.
To all the volunteers that walk through long forgotten, overgrown, tick and snake infested cemeteries, taking photos of all gravestones (even broken or half buried ones), and create memorials, thank you. Those gravestones may disappear or become completely unreadable in the future. For your efforts in registering the graves, thank you for all you do.

I am particularly interested in these burials and their locations to ensure they are included in the next edition of the Vernon Co cemetery directory that will be published in a couple of years. If you will please email me (email@example.com)--I have a couple of questions and can answer your questions.
|Lenda Tuck||RE: Lucinda Belle Tuck|
I love the way you spell your name. My daughter's name is spelled Sherrell....anyway, I am so glad that you answered my email. About "Belle" I am almost certain her name was Lucinda and not Lillian.. I researched her again and came up with trees that had here a Lucinda and also L.Belle and never once did I see Lillian.. The information that I do have came from a relative that lived in Fayetteville and did a lot of research at the court house back in 1999 & 2000. Fern is her name but she is now in a nursing home and unable to respond anymore. I do know she did lots of hard work on genealogy from court house to court house..I am almost sure her notes are correct about the dates but everyone does make mistakes now and then... although I am concerned about the death year being 1895. I do know the month and date are probably correct... I wished I lived near the court house so I could check. At this time, I can not find anything on line... If you don't mind go ahead and put those dates there for me. In Fern's notes she had that Belle died of Typhoid Fever, that tells me that she may have had the death certificate but as I say, I can't find it on line.
Thank you greatly for all the work you do on Find A Grave..
You are a special blessing to me and others.

Thank you so much for placing the correct photo on the Infant THOMAS memorial at Beaty Cemetery in Washington County.
It doesn't seem to do one bit of good to contact that person who placed the military marker photo on there, so I had given up.
I appreciate what you do. Best wishes.

Would you transfer the memorials for my grandparents to me? #93287862 and #93287907 John and Lavina Johnston. Also my aunt Ellie Duncan #93288027. Would it be permissible to use your photos in the family tree on Ancestry, with credit to you? One more question, is there a photo of Sons Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville that can be posted to these memorials? Thanks so mush for your help.

Memorial #93288027 Ellie Duncan is my aunt, my mother's sister. Do you know if there is a photo of Sons Chapel Cemetery in Fayetteville that could be posted on her memorial? Thanks for any help.

On all these graves with 1753 death dates, I don't think it was a typo. I don't mean it's correct but I got a lot of these from the Luginbuel Funeral Home site. I will have to double check with that info to see if that's where I got that. Some of these I took from headstone photos but not the ones you've brought to my attention so far. Interesting?
|Angela Cozart McKnight||Evergreen Cemetery|
I noticed that you have taken photos at Evergreen Cemetery. I was wondering if you might like to get together with me to work together to try to identify the markers that are so hard to read. You can email or message me if you are interested.
