As you can see, I have been around Findagrave for almost 12 ½ years! Seeing all of the changes that have happened over the years has been very exciting. Things we wished for way back when are now a reality. Memorials now look wonderful when they are so complete.
I am still – and plan to always be an active member of Findagrave. If that changes I will let the admins know. I do love Findagrave and have every intention of always maintaining my contributions, but I also have a very active "real" life. Since Findagrave is a volunteer website I will work on corrections as time allows. You need only send a correction one time. If some time has passed and you think the correction request may have been lost please send a second request. I will transfer memorials within Findagrave guidelines only.
FROM THE FAQS:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Duplicates are frowned upon. DO NOT make duplicate memorials.
PLEASE use the Suggest A Correction tab for EACH memorial. Please do not compile an e-mail or "Suggest a Correction" request with several memorial requests. I am not able to search for each memorial. When you use the "Suggest A Correction" link it sends the link to the memorial along with the request. When requesting to add family links, please add the MEMORIAL NUMBERS and THE NAMES. Not just the names or just the numbers of the other family members. If you send just the names or just the memorial numbers the corrections will not be made. There is a high probability for error without all of the information being sent.
I will make changes and add biographical information to any of the memorials that I have added to the website. If you send a change of dates please site your reference. Please remember, it is "Suggest A Correction", Not "Demand A Correction". Please also remember that every correction you send does not necessarily result in actual changes to the memorial. Sending a correction asking for copied materials such as census records or obits to be added to the memorial will not result in it being added. Please do not send them. If you want that information added, please write the information in paragraph form and send that as your correction.
From the FAQ'S
Can I add an obituary to my interment listing? You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published. Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record. Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright. Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.
If you need to contact me with other questions about memorials please add the topic of Findagrave in the Subject Line. If the Subject of FINDAGRAVE is not listed the email will not be opened. Please add the memorial number on all of your requests. I look forward to working with you to make each memorial as complete as possible! Thank you.

 | Rosehill Cemetery Julie, Heinrich Witt is my ggg-grandfather. Thank you for recording his grave and taking the photo of his gravestone. When I looked up his wife: Caroline Meister Witt, I found no entry. She is there, I have a photo taken by a relative in the 1970's. I would attach it, but don't know how. I can also supply links to other members of the family. If interested, send an email.

 | Jack Hearon Will you link Jack Hearon 10385877 to his mother Elliott Clyott Hearon 10385875. I sent you one a few days ago that I just noticed a mistake in it. I have you the wrong memorial # for Elliott. The one I gave was for her daughter Iris. This is the other one I'd like to have linked. Zola H. Raif memorial # 6381725 to her mother Elliott Clyott Hearon 10385875. Thank you for doing these. Sorry about the mistake earlier. | | | gone_fishing - unless_you_email
 | RE: Viola Heiner Thank you for your help. Pretty speedy, too.
Sadie fetches, loves ice cream, and is generally a lot of fun. She keeps me going.
I know where Viola's parents died, but haven't got cemeteries yet. I've got her linked from her grandmother Marilla Isenhour's memorial in the biography section. Someday I'll figure it out and it can be linked in through Family Links.
Thanks Again, Charles | | | steph7896
