I will transfer memorials to those that are direct descendants. |
My photos are available for your personal use such as adding to your Ancestry tree. I feel that anyone can visit a cemetery and take a photo and therefore it is not important to me to "claim a right" to a cemetery photo I have taken, especially if it is YOUR family member and not mine!
Here is a little something that another fellow Find-a-Grave member, Jeff Gonyea, put on his profile:
"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most.
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor."
This is very much the truth! I spend hours upon hours walking through cemeteries taking photos, looking up obituary info online and creating memorials for people I do not know, but have departed this life, so that others can find them and remember them for future generations.

|Reese Spicer||Louise Rose Borton "Spicer"|
Hi Louise Rose Spicer is the daughter of George Washington Spicer and Sydney Brown. George is my GGGrandfather's younger brother.
Louise was first married to Arthur A Albertson (1865 -1913)then to William Borton.
I would like to see a stone for her if there is one.

I too have plot maps of Highland and Riverview, I am friends with "Stephanie" who is the Regional Supervisor at Riverview, her (deceased) husband who was the maintenance supervisor before his death, gave me maps of both locations to help me! He was awesome!! I also have access to City Cemetery, I am a volunteer with the Parks Dept. on helping 'digitize' the cemetery. If you ever need help with City SB, let me know! Would love to meet you sometime, I also volunteer at the local history dept as stated in my bio for Find A Grave. Feel free to contact me anytime!!

Mom of 3 boys,
I found 2 individuals in my family tree in your memorials from the Mishawaka City Cemetery, Charles and Nellie Newkirk. I am also looking for their daughter, Ethel, who was born in Oct 1893 and died between 1900 and 1910. Since both Charles and Nellie are buried together, I'm hoping that she may also be buried in the same cemetery. They lived in St Joseph County during that time.
Thank you for any help you can give to me.
P.S., I am also willing to assume management of Charles and Nellie's memorials. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for posting the photos of Samuel and Sarah Wiedman. Have a great day !!
Hi Mom of 3 boys--
There is a lady there who is VERY UNFRIENDLY, she doesn't think she should have to do this location work for us. If you ever need assistance with Highland or Riverview, I personally have copies of the maps and names from 1915 - 2005. I will gladly assist you. It doesn't bother me, WHO gets the credit, just as long as memorials are made for people to be remembered!! I do this to help others.

She is mistaken at the office. My Leyes grandparents are there. The Harold is my uncle or their son, for example.

Thank you so much for the transfer :)
I was wondering if you would consider transferring the memorial of Ada Gay Fisher to me, she is my grandmother
