|I am a lifetime resident of Hiawatha, Brown County, Kansas. I have been working on my family genealogy since 2002, and my husband's family since 2006. |
A lot of the photos that I upload to Find a Grave I take time to post some additional information, like the location within the cemetery, or other things that I feel might be of interest to family members who can not make the trip themselves, or that could help them locate the stones if they do make the trip. I have also started going back and adding death notices and obits to some of my pages in Brown County cemeteries as I have time. On pages that I do not manage, but have posted the headstone pictures, I have been adding the information in the comments section beneath the picture. So please click on any photo that I have uploaded and scroll down to the bottom to see if there is any additional information for you.
"The goal at Find A Grave should not be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."
~Jim Tipton, creator of Find A Grave.

Thank you for your consideration.
Seth's first name was Elijah. He never used it but that was his given first name.

Thank you for being so prompt with your replies and also taking care of this. I will continue to search but they passed in PA and so far I have not found the correct cemetery. Also many times the cemetery has disappeared. It is my understanding that in some states especially in the 1800's cemeteries were not protected and people could buy the land and just plow the cemetery without moving the graves. A very sad commentary on human behavior

No, wait. What I'm not able to do is add Thomas D.'s parents. John Ten Eyck #20472076 and wife Louisa #96317927. Sorry that I'm so easily confused, making it hard for you to be able to help me!
|Linda Bonnell||RE: Thank you and I need your help|
Apparently in my excitement to add children to Thomas D. Teneyck #30129212, I've snarled the works. You told me to be patient and somehow, I impulsively tried to add Eva Iola Ten Eyck Stokes 26852961. I cannot add Louisa as history has lost track of her. Eva's husband was Herbert Estes Stokes #111271006. Thomas and Mary J. Ten Eyck's children were Louisa 1879 Wade 1881 and Eva Iola 1884. Wade has appeared. May you help me with Eva please? Thank you!

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am working on a project to identify the last resting place of many of our "old soldiers" that had ties to Vt. Henry J. McWain is one such patriot. I am asking you if I may use the photo you contributed to his Find A Grave memorial page, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org), or any others that may have vermont ties that you have submitted.
You would receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration. Deanna French
|Linda Bonnell||What do I need to do|
in order to manage or link members of my family on findagrave.com. Specifically Memorial#30129212 Thomas D. Teneyck (my great grandfather). I did make suggestions and they are noted on your site for him. His son, (my grandfather) Wade Ten Eyck is not linked Memorial#68929180 with his parents, Thomas D. and Mary Jane Lyons Teneycke(sic). Is it possible to link them? Any help is appreciated!
