I would like to help others in their journey to find their ancestors. My journey began several years ago, and I wouldn't have been so successful if it weren't for others who helped me along the way.

Mt. Pleasant Cemetery is very difficult to deal with. Their staff is not very friendly or helpful. I know many of their records were destroyed by fire many years ago which accounts for their lack of accurate record keeping. They also implemented a policy of charging a fee of $10 for every name lookup, which causes many people not to use their service. The bottom line is that their customer service basically sucks!

Washington state has an online library service, where you can send an obituary request to a librarian. It is called "Ask a Librarian" It is free to the public. It usually takes several weeks to get a reply because of the popularity of the service and the high volume of requests. If your relative had an obituary, the article might provide you with burial information. You might also want to try the online Washington State Digital Archives. It is another free service, which maintains public documents and records. Outside of those two options I really don't know what to suggest. My wife has an account with ancestry. I will look and see if I can any information on Peter. If I find anything I will let you know.

As far as I know all the cemetery listings are up to date. Have you tried Lake View Cemetery? It is one of the oldest Seattle cemeteries, and contains many of Seattle's founding pioneers.

I just checked through the electronic data base for Ft. Lawton Cemetery. There is no listing for Peter Panchot there. I will try and get to the GAR Cemetery in the coming days.

RE: Peter J Panchot
I will be glad to check Ft. Lawton for you. He might be buried at the GAR cemetery on Seattle's Capitol Hill next to Lake View Cemetery. The weather is turning bad for the next few days, so I will try to locate him early next week.

Thanks for the followup. I'll keep the headstone date for now, but will add a note about conflicting dates; if someone comes through later with a death, marriage cert etc. that's more specific, that may help.

Before I put through your request, I want to confirm that she was really married and preganant at 16?

RE: William Oliver Vessels
Sorry no James or Oliver, none of the DOB orDOD match... The closest to is a Lonnie 1893-1913 Son of Cora.. Which is not a match.. If he is there, he has no visible stone..........
