Retired military and living near Antietam battlefield. |
So nice to find out all my work on Findagrave is now going to be held by Ancestry.com without the GOOD FOLKS at FAG telling us about it!
I wonder how long it will be before I have to pay for the info I have placed on a "FREE" site!
If I have added a family member or a good friend, I am happy to transfer memorials. I am not bothered by F.A.G. guidelines in transfers. I am concerned about getting family members "back together." I DO transfer distant relatives since they SHOULD be with family.
I am also happy to transfer memorials of close friends as well as family.
PLEASE DON'T "TRASH UP" MEMORIALS I CREATED WITH POORLY SHOT PHOTOS!
If you are contributing photos to any memorials I have added to Findagrave, please put on good QUALITY photos, not badly cropped or off center ones I have seen WAAAYYYY too often!
If I have photos to upgrade otherwise "SUBSTANDARD" photos on any memorials I will be sure to add them.
REMEMBER, these sites are in memory of someones' ancestors. If you place a photo on a memorial, make it good enough that you would be happy with it on your own.
All men die.........not all men really live.
West Virginia Records: Birth, Death & Marriage
I am looking for Charles & Flo Liddington. Flo died in 1972. Charlie was alive in 1974. They were my mothers' mother & step-father.
I believe they lived modestly within a half hour of Danville, PA.
Also, I am searching for any info regarding the roster for the 33rdBattalion of the Maryland Militia. An ancestor I am searching for, Thomas Mock, who served with this unit in New Jersey in 1777 under George Washington. He had a wife names Sarah and parents were George & Catherine Mock. They were from "SUPPOSEDLY" living between Sharpsburg and Middletown, Washington County, MD.

Jacob was the son of CPT John M. Rohrer Mem#62265419. Jacob was born in Rohrersville 16 Jan 1801 and died 5 Jan 1878. Jacob's wife's name was Mary (Poly) Smith 1804-1849. Both are buried in Mt Zion Lutheran Church, Locust Grove, Rohrersville. I think I saw on your bio that you are Retired Military. I am also retired, Military. 1949-1976. Missed Korean War, served in Germany, and Korea (after war) 5 times and Vietnam with a month in Cambodia in 1970. Live in Lousiana but right now with Children in Arlington TX. You van transfer this one also.

Hey Birdman. I seem to find quite a few links for your memorials. If it's easier for you to transfer than make the links, then by all means, please transfer. Do you want me to make the transfer requests using the edit function or through a public message here?
Sorry you're having so much trouble. I've been getting a lot of "security warnings" lately - not sure what that's all about, but it sure is slowing me down too.

Hi, Birdman. Just wanted to let you know that I sent you links for Mr. Bohrer, in case your email is still out of whack.

I do not understand this memorial, as W. H. Lewis was William H. Lewis. According to his military record he survived his wounds at Antietam. If you look at Find A Grave memorial # 71021383 you will see that he lived for many years. So you have any explanation or idea as to what happened here? Thanks....
