I was born and raised in Beacon NY, and still live here.My moms fathers family came from Ramapo Rockland county NY. Their last name was Cable or sometimes spelled Cabell. Her mothers maiden name was Hickey, they were from the Beacon area.Until I started to research my family history, I thought the Ostranders my dads family were from Peekskill NY Westchester co.That is where my dad grew up. I found out that they were from Ulster co and Orange counties in NY, the area from Kingston to Newburgh. After joining find a grave I also became a member of the Ostrander family association.I bought the hard cover book "Ostrander" a Genealogical Record which has been a great help in my research along with the information from all you people on find a grave. The funny thing is, at one point my in laws lived in Modena NY,where many of the Ostranders are buried.I hope to this year, with my wife and sister, take a field trip to some of those places.Im an hour away from Kingston and half that from Modena.I would just like to thank all of you for your effort and information you provided, it keeps me searching for more. Please feel free to use any of my photos|

Thanks. I added pictures and info if you would like to take a look.
Ella Conklin 116996277 and Frank Conklin 116996136 are my Great Grandparents. Would you consider transferring them to me?

Hi Doug, Thank you for all your help. I failed to mention Fanny (or Fannie) MacKinnon who was also a daughter of John and Julia and referenced in the Old Gravestones of Dutchess County. She died in 1882. Perhaps her gravestone is near her parents and siblings Mary and Redmond. This was a very large family which included Ignatius who was buried in Connecticut with his wife, and Leslie, my great grandfather, who was buried in New Jersey.

Doug, I will be happy to take over the management of the memorials for Julia, Pauline and Kathleen MacKinnon. Previously, memorials for their parents John MacKinnon and Julia Wiltsie MacKinnon, and siblings Mary and Redmond were transferred to me. They were created as McKinnon based on information from a book published in 1924, Old Gravestones of Dutchess County, NY by Poucher. Do you know if a gravestone still exits in the Saint Luke's Cemetery for John, Julia, Mary and Redmond? I will make all the connections after the memorials are transferred to me. Thank you and best regards, Carol

Thank you for creating the memorials for Julia, Pauline and Kathleen MacKinnon. They were my great, grandfather's sisters. The birth and death dates for Julia and Pauline provided new information to me. I suggested an addition to Kathleen's memorial. An obituary in the New York Times confirms that the date on the gravestone is her death date. Census records show that she was born in February 1842. Thank you, again.

Thanks so much for checking the stone for me. No need for the transfer but thanks for the offer. Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much for locating and posting the photo of Samuel Decker. I had no idea it was in the condition that it is, so thank you!

Doug, I don't have any information on Esther's mother, but if I find anything I'll let you know. I know her father was a John so only assume its the John in the same plot, but am not even sure of that, but her dates match those of the wife of Lawrence Lennox who was from Beacon but was buried in Saint Joseph's in Yonkers 4 years before Esther.
Thanks for doing this transfer and for your work in St. Joachims. There is a lot of history there for my family and I appreciate what you've done!

Doug, I would like to manage the memorials of the Lennox family buried at Old St Joachims that you entered. James and Ellen Lennox are my ggg-grandparents. I have visited St Joachims and have similar photos to yours, and would also like to add the family relationships. They had 14 children buried around NY state and I have most of that information. The memorial numbers are:
James Lennox, 110330874
Ellen Lennox, 110330903 and 110330893 (looks like these are duplicates)
Hester Lennox, 107921795 (her father was John Hickey and she was married to Lawrence Lennox who died earlier, not sure why she is not buried with him)
Thomas Lennox, 110010806
Please let me know if you can transfer these to me. Thanks. Kathy Croft (kkcroft)

Glad the final resting places of these folks are being sorted out. Surname spelling has been updated to reflect your discovery. Pictures look great, Doug. Thanks. One clarification about the infant - she is not listed in Poucher's book. Only the parents are. Feel free to link to them from the infant's page.
