George and Elizabeth Walter
Thank you so much for the mausoleum marker photos for George and Elizabeth Walter. I greatly appreciate it!

I am not related to the Walter family. My only connection is through Maurice Walter, son of Gus Walter. He was friends with my grandmother and corresponded with her several times before he shipped out for France during WWI. Maurice was later killed in action. He volunteered to help Captain Alexander Skinker clear out a machine gun nest. Capt. Skinker was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Oddly, Maurice was not.

I have searched for Maurice's marker, but couldn't make a positive ID. I found a large marble headstone, knocked over, badly worn and illegible, near the place I would imagine he was buried. It really is a shame Maurice doesn't even have a military service marker.

Thanks again,
Matt
