Please feel free to take any photos that I attach and upload them to your family tree. You do not need to ask my permission or credit me for the photograph.|
I live in the East Riding of Yorkshire in England and am willing to look for graves etc in the local area.
I am trying to make a full record of the cemeteries I live near and am using local history records to add in the details for headstones which I cannot read or are missing. I started this when tracing my own family tree and my aim is to help anyone tracing their family. I do not want to upset anyone, so if anyone wants me to remove or transfer memorials please let me know.
Tip (Copied from England Discussion Forum):
To do a search for cemetery or churchyard in a particular county go to cemetery search and begin with a full search for all in England. Find-A-Grave will say that there are too many records and that you should go back and refine the search so that it returns fewer results. Ignore this and in the address bar at the top of the screen, where the url reads:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=csr&CScn=&CScntry=5&CSst=0 replace the 0 at the end with one of the following codes. There may still be several pages of cemeteries in the list for the county, but it is easier to look through
4216 County Durham
4811 East Riding of Yorkshire
4217 East Sussex
4220 Greater London
5248 Greater Manchester
4226 Isle of Wight
4233 North Yorkshire
4240 South Yorkshire
4244 Tyne and Wear
5249 West Midlands
4247 West Sussex
4248 West Yorkshire

Gracias Charlie for the transfer of David Pax Tennant :) Hard enuff to Find A Grave to attach kids/parents to famous bios, so the not so famous family ones can fill some of it in :) Appreciate your work!

Thank you very much for adding the memorial for Samuel Cowlishaw (119687311)! I was thrilled to find it today. Samuel is my 3rd cousin and I am wondering if you would be willing to transfer his memorial to me.

|Linda Sibley Zimmerman||Armisteads in Leeds|
I noticed we both are researching the Armistead's and I could use some help identifying a graveyard in Leeds, where I have 13 Armistead's located. I not sure how close you are to Leeds in West Yorkshire, but if not too much trouble Like to get a picture of the Church/graveyard for the Meadow Lane Graveyard, there a map here:
I believe the Church is Christ Church, However the Photo I see from the satellite view is different from the photo that is on Wikipedia. The Wikipedia photo also looks like the church is at the top of a small hill, while the google Map satellite view it looks flat. The research I have done indicates that the graveyard at this church is the Meadow Lane cemetery mentioned in the LDS Indexing Project Batch#: B05303-3. in the 1700's meadow Lane went all the way to the graveyard.
I would appreciate any insight you might be able to shed on this.

Hello! I added the FindAGrave of Robins wife Suzanne, but I am unsure if she is buried with him at All Saints Churchyard. I was wondering if there was anyway you could find out this information, as I live in the United States and can't locate an email address or phone number for the cemetery. His Find A Grave number is 91133750 and hers is 150951676.
Thank you so much!

|Don McArthur||RE: St. James, Warter|
Did I read your Sept. 4th message right, there are only fifteen stones in this cemetery? I see there are suddenly 285 memorials attached to St. James, Warter. I wonder if they belong elsewhere.
I wonder if you could have a look at them and see what you think.
