|I have added these memorials, mostly from the historic cemeteries of Charleston to memorialize all the individuals who have contributed to Charleston's past. |
If I don't respond to a request for transfer it means I prefer to retain the memorial.
In the event a photo of a headstone is not included, it generally means that the memorial information was taken from a cemetery transcription or death record. One of those who did the transcription was Elizabeth C. Curtis. Without her efforts cemeteries such as Trinity United Methodist and Old Third Central Presbyterian Cemetery records would not be included or available since neither of the above church exists today, including the cemetery and headstones. I just found out yesterday January 21, 2010 that internments of Old Third Central Presbyterian Church Cemetery have been moved to Riverview Memorial in Charleston. There are others who did transcriptions, but I am not aware who they are. If someone knows, I would be glad to acknowledge them in this profile.
Some of the headstones at the Circular Church were impossible to read, however the church had previously documented many of the graves sites by plot #'s. In those cases where I could not read the headstone I used the information from the church records found at the Charleston library to identify the headstones. I did list the plots #'s on the majority of the memorials.
A special thanks to the work of Clare Jervey published in 1906 with the transcription of St. Michael's. Her transcription allowed me to include much that was unreadable.

|BJWeir||William De Peyster Stagg & Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery|
I noticed that you had created a memorial and added a newspaper obituary for William De Peyster Stagg, who is interred at the Sailors' Snug Harbor Cemetery. Are you a descendant of William? I'm also a descendant of a mariner who resided at Sailors' Snug Harbor and is interred at the SSH Cemetery. If you are interested in more information about recent efforts regarding the status of the SSH Cemetery and the SSH Records, you can contact me at the email address listed on my member name profile.

|Marcia Lynne vonGunden||Transfer & thank you|
Thank you for your generosity in transferring:
Eleanore Margaret "Lenore" Kendig Nicolin # 48570262
to my care.
I have successfully connected her with parents, two siblings, husband and son.
As I receive more information, I will be adding it to Our shared memorial.
With sincerest appreciation,

Is there any way to check the DOD of Lisette Stern?? She's listed on the June 1, 1905 NY census, though she died the previous November. The rest of the profile you've given indicates the same person. Just a general 'thank you' for all the time and effort you've put into Find a Grave.

You are very welcome - I'm so glad I could help!
Hi I see you have Catherine Wilson Elmore memorial # 87359174 which was added 03/25/2012 by you and I was wondering if you could tell me where this cemetery is located??? I have added Ezekiel Nelson to this Cemetery because of th e information on his Death Certificate but can not locate the Cemetery. I did call the Funeral Home also located on his Death Certificate and as of now they seem to think this Cemetery is St Lawrence so any help you can afford me would be greatly appreciated in finding O'Neill Cemetery.
Thank you, Joyce M. firstname.lastname@example.org

Thank you John. I am not a paidup member of Ancestry as I believe it should be free but there you are. I think I am going too far down the Halsey line as the Anna Chatfield was born in 1649 and there isn't a lot our blood left in Robert.

This is my close family, if you'd like to transfer it.

I added some photos but cannot put his picture back at the top of you can, and he is buried in Newport Ri, the historical society is checking to see which one. I was told he was in a different cemetery before & sorry for the incorrect info on that, as soon as I have the cemetery name I'll let you know!
|Jack Davison||RADM Charles O. Triebel|
I gave you bum dope. He sank 19 ships for a total of 58,000tons. He and my father were classmates in 1929 and shipmates in USS NewYork before entering flight training where Triebel washed out and became my godfather. His christening prent was a silver juice cup that he said would serve as a jigger for whiskey when i was old enough. I met him to remember when he visited us on his way from the Pacific to the Bureau of Ordnance. I remember how impressed I was by his Navy crosses and the amount of shipping that he had sunk.
