Bio Photo My husband says I spend too much time in graveyards, doing genealogy and on the computer. Maybe he's right.
My favorite cemeteries are Mount Hebron in Winchester, Virginia, and Rock Creek in Washington, D. C.

==============
- When I started contributing to Find A Grave the following was listed under FAQs:

What are your naming conventions?
Naming conventions:
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name.

- I see that they have changed their FAQs to the following:

What are your naming conventions?
Naming conventions:
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Periods are to be used after initials, as in normal English. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name. Suffixes and Prefixes do not belong in any name field.

- I am adhering to what was the convention on Find A Grave when I first checked FAQs.  Rather than change over 18,000 memorials, I will stick with the original rule.

I have received nasty messages from some who disagree with my choice of staying with the original convention. If you supply a middle name, this will solve your problem.

I'm writing a story about 19 men who gathered every month from 1880 to 1920 at the Haymarket Agricultural Club. My grandfather, Franz Peters, and N. T. Depauw were members. How can I get a digital copy of the picture of Col Depauw at Findagrave.

Duplicates
Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,

Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia

A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.

Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.

Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.

Thank you.

George William Binsted
Thanks for your work cataloging grave stones.

In regards to George William Binsted you have listed his wife as "Husband of Florence M. Maisey"
but the grave stone seems to indicate that the wife is "Florence B. Tyrell".

I am not doubting you, just trying to understand?

My interest is because Edith Mary Binsted is my grandfather's 3rd wife.

RE: Previous Message
Thank you for confirming my concern.

It looks like from my research that William Marquis was married to 2 wives with the first name, Elizabeth.

Find A Grave Memorial# 7839698
Hi Audrey,

Is it possible that the transcription in Elizabeth's stone actually says that her husband, Edward Hodge died in 1862 instead of 1892?

Thanks,

Joanne

RE: Jürgen H Rahe (no. 32789690)
Thanks. I'm pretty sure that both memorials reference the same person despite the locations involved, so I'll defer to your expertise and go ahead and delete the other one and link his wife's memorial directly to yours.

I think that Memorial no. 133244724 may be a duplicate of Memorial no. 32789690, which you generated. The deceased's first name, last name, date of birth, and date of death all match, so it would seem that it is almost certainly the same person--however, the inurnment sites do not match. A staff member at Columbia Gardens Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia said that their records indicate that his cremains are still located there, but I suspect that his cremains may have actually been moved to the new location after his wife passed. Are you able to visit the columbarium at Columbia Gardens to verify if his plaque is still displayed at his respective niche there? Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

Was wondering if you could tell whether or not the stone said AGED 61 years? So hard to tell, he was born in Ireland.
