I will post obits on memorials with proper citation. I know some people feel that this info is "private" or "personal" but.... it was PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE. 99% of the time this info is invaluable to genealogists. I have had cemeteries tell me they are private property and those interred there want privacy. If someone truly wants privacy, get cremated and scattered over the ocean, don't put up a huge headstone with your name & dates in flashing lights...... I am not trying to own the most memorials... unless they are in my own direct family line, I am flexible on transfers (until the first spat occurs). Please use the Edit tab for additions, corrections and transfer requests.

There are those contributors on FAG that have gotten their feelings hurt and do not mind in disparaging anyone with hateful remarks. Please playnice and do a random act of kindness today.
Anybody in favour of having a 'report card' for any graver that goes directly to FAG administration please respond. This report card could include things like being nice, friendly, not stepping on toes, not lying or cheating, not falsifying records, responding to emails and correspondence in a timely manner, being responsible for others that use your-account, taking responsibility and ownership of wrongdoings and not placing blame on others...just to name a few.
Since teaming up with my friends Teresa & Rob, our goal is making our way through all the Marion County Cemeteries we can find.

Since I'm from the west coast, a couple of years ago I think I would have thought you were referring to me as a fruit cake. LOL But since my daughter's husband got stationed in Savannah GA I've learned a lot about fruit cakes and chicken. Meaty, fruity, nutty, batty... it's all good =]

LOL! So sorry - I didn't mean to make it sound like I needed to vent =] I try really hard not to take what happens on this web site too seriously and saw your idea for a report card. I ended up on your page because of a photo you posted on a memorial I entered, which a data manager for Arlington keeps editing, being told you were related. Happy to transfer Find A Grave Memorial# 110517538 if you are his family.

My vote would be for everyone to have a report card, not just the newbies. It seems that the more experienced gravers are getting too emotionally attached to their work and feel that this is their web site and that you need to play by their rules. I've had some gravers enter open memorials yesterday so they can edit it today and claim that their memorial isn't the duplicate. But since we have gotten so far off track of be held accountable for our actions and having a consequence for the choices we make, whether it's positive or negative consequences, a failing report card probably won't make much difference. After all our own leader says "No child left behind". But the positive side would be for those that know how and do play nice will earn their gold star. =]

I'm in favor of having something similar to report cards for everyone to include those that have been here since the "ice age" and feel they have more say so than the administrators do.
I have received such nasty messages and all I've ever done is attempt to help others with missing information. It got so bad I had to turn off my public message feature and removed my e-mail for my own mental stability. My personal life is extremely stressful and going on the Internet and working on my family tree and helping others by calling funeral homes and obtaining missing information and looking for photos that were missing for memorials, etc. was a positive distraction from all the stress factors in my life. Taking care of a disabled parent who requires almost constant care can be a challenge to say the very least but the members on Find A Grave are getting so nasty and taking things so personal when my messages clearly say they are "my opinion" or "suggestion" etc. that they allow their blood pressure to skyrocket as if they must do what I say. It was a recommendation, calm down! :-)
