Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Loretta and I'm a genealogy addict ;-) I'm a freelance musician in Chicago. The surnames of my four grandparents are Gillespie, Loftice, Dimas and Bernal.
Many of my memorials are not family. I just take extra pics while visiting a cemetery. If they are relatives of yours feel free to ask for a transfer.
If you know a maiden name, relationship connection, correction or addition for any of my memorials please use the edit tab to let me know! Thanks :-)
If I've added a duplicate pic to a memorial of yours and you would like the space for personal photos just let me know and I'll delete mine. No hurt feelings ;-)
If you have a minute please take a look at my blog (linked below), Barking Up The Wrong Tree.

Hi, I could be wrong. I can not remember this one. I walked the cem. and took notes. Took lots of Pictures of the headstones too. It might just said 10 on it and I took it to mean year born. Lots of these are hand made headstones.

RE: Selah Tenant/Tennant memorial
Thank you for responding so quickly! I'm not sure which last name should be used - I think he was "Tenant" when he was a Civil War Soldier and in the Muskegon death index, but he was "Tennant" in census & marriage records.

Selah Tenant/Tennant memorial
There are two different memorials for Selah in Mona View cemetery - the one you manage for "Selah Tenant" and the one I just had transferred to me for "Selah Tennant". Could you contact me about combining them. Yours has the photo, so hoping I can provide you with additional information.

Emma Watson
The father of Emma (Ruxton) Watson (#61283006) is David Ruxton (#36945583).
(Her mother is presumably buried at Huron County, Ontario, where she died c.1882)

Emma Ruxton was born at Howick township, Huron County, Ontario, and after the death of her mother Agnes, c.1882, came to Wheatland township, Mecosta, Michigan, presumably with her father David, to join several brothers and sisters who had settled in the area. She married Alvah A. Watson on 2 Apr 1893. He worked for many years as a rail-road telegraph operator.

Margaret Minasia Kirishian
Hello Loretta,

Thank you so much for posting the photo of Margaret Minasia Kirishian. I was wondering how you knew her maiden name. Also, do you have anymore information about her?

Thank You,
Jennifer

Your suggestion
Loretta,
Thank you for the Malicia E. (Hannack) Pruitt suggestion on the 1900 census of Pulaski Co., MO. I checked that on Ancestry and did indeed find her entry had been struck through and the word "Dead" written at the end. I have changed her death year to both match the tombstone but also the records handed down from my father.

What took you to this memorial site? Have you worked this cemetery? I assume no relation to the Pruitt and Hammack families here???

Montrose Cemetery
Amazing to find the stones for Charles T, Ella C and Clifford Umbricht that you had taken at Montrose Cemetery. Thank you! They are family!
