I'm a fairly recent enthusiast of cemetery photography. I suspect becoming a site contributor and photo volunteer was inevitable.|
I live in the Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee. My involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism (the "SCA") means that I travel to other states - notably Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
When possible, I now "fit in" cemetery photography sessions while away from home.
Most of the memorials I have made are for people I am not related to. They've come about from picture-taking adventures and subsequently learning that no memorial existed. When appropriate, I add photographs to existing memorials.
A good number of the memorials I manage but did not make are my family. Some were created before I came along and were kindly transferred to me by other contributors who are not related to them. Others originated from the U.S. Veterans Affairs Office and were transferred to me by Find A Grave Administration.
A couple of memorials I now manage are of non-relatives for whom I suggested rather extensive editing based on information I had gathered ... and the non-relative originator chose to transfer management to me.
If you find that one of your relatives has a memorial made by me, I'll be happy to transfer management - WITHIN the 4-generation direct relationship guidelines as given in the Find A Grave FAQ. --->> Please do specify your exact relationship in the SAC! <<---
FAQ #162 states that the 4-generation direct relationships are as follow: "This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren."
Kindly DO NOT copy my photographs for use on other websites. Yes, I ***REALLY*** DO mean: DON'T post photographs that I have taken to Ancestry.com or to any other site.
Copyright for images posted to Find A Grave remains with the photographer, who in this case reserves the right to not permit further sharing on the Internet.

Thank you for getting the photos for me. I have other requests for Macon Memorial Park that you claimed and am wondering if you were able to get those? I really appreciate your time and kindness.
|Ken Mitchell||RE: John Bounds|
The memorial for John M. Bonds was created by a lady who is since deceased. The photo of the marker for this memorial was posted by another lady. I find it very unlikely that two different individuals would have placed the memorial and photo for this grave in the wrong cemetery. If you are so certain that the grave location is elsewhere, then in what cemetery is it located?
There was not a John M. Bonds and a John Y. Bounds in Company C, 29th Regiment Georgia Infantry. There was a John M. Bonds in this unit and a record for a J. M. Bounds filed under the same name, i.e. the same man. At first glance, when you look at the marker photo for John M. Bonds, the middle initial might be mistaken as a "Y", but if you examine it closely you can plainly see that it is an "M". If you have the photo for the John Y. Bounds memorial, then why don't you post it and help clear up some of the confusion?
I presented the facts to you as I saw them and merely asked that you take a second look and see if mistakes concerning your memorial might have been made. I have never received such a condescending reply from a Find-A-Grave contributor as yours. Next time you enter this site, check your attitude at the door.

Thank you for the photo and the suggestion. I'll add the suggested info right away. Thanks again,

Thank you for the photo of his grave. In regards to your request to change his date of birth: It is documented in his World War I Draft Registration Card, by his own hand, that his date of birth was in fact August 30 th 1879.

Thank you for the photo of her grave. In regards to your request to change her year of birth the Social Security Death Index lists year of birth as 1901. This is not correct as she is listed as being 2 yrs old in the 1900 U.S. Census making birth 1897. But as she just had a birthday the day before the census was taken she was actually 3 yrs old.
Again thank you vey much! :)

We all done the duplication thing unintentionally. I have myself! Yes, all 3 do have different bits of information so hope it all can be merged. I am sure they can.
Thanks for doing this,
