I didn't post the photo of the obit on this memorial so I didn't know about it. Thanks for the heads up. I've moved him to the correct cemetery.

I saw that you had requested some edits for the memorial of Dorothy Krotz. I have accepted those.
I was wondering where you knew that information from? Dorothy Krotz is my great-aunt through marriage. My Krotz is my family name, so I'm just curious as to how you knew the information.

Can you write down here the title of this book,the author,the date it was published & who the publishing company was? Having this information as a source citation will be very helpful to other researchers. I can also add a note to direct any questions back to you....since you have a copy of this book. Can you send me a copy of that page listing Mary Clark Snell's vital information ?

Great photos...many thanks. Sound like these may be the only Ruppert graves there that have survived the ravages of war and Communism.
|Julian H. Preisler||RE: Marianske Lazne|
Sadly most pre WWII graves of German ethnic folks are not maintained and most are re-used with the tombstones removed. Same thing in former German areas of Poland. Yes, the person who you mentioned got some information from "Julian", that is me. My family history is interesting in that we are Jewish, but have Catholic and Jewish ancestors and lost many in the Holocaust and also parts of the family experienced the expulsion of German ethnic populations from former German areas of Poland and the Czech Republic. Makes my family history research challenging. The fact that the Ruppert Family grave marker is still there in Marianske Lazne is a miracle. Martin Ruppert who is listed on the plaque built several villa hotels in town in the mid 19th century, most of which still stand. Do you want me to post a photo request for each of the names that are listed on the Ruppert marker? Will be happy to do so. Looking forward to your images.
|Julian H. Preisler||RE: PHOTO REQUESTS|
Thanks for your messages. Small world that you lived in WV, Northern Virginia and now Marianske Lazne. I had forgotten about my photo request and found one online thought it only shows part of the marker. Sorry you spent time on it. I contacted the cemetery several times (in Czech) with no response. I have learned that very few old "German" ethnic graves remain in Czech and Polish cemeteries. The graves generally are rented and used again once a rental period is over usually 20-30 years. Same thing in Germany. How is the condition of the cemetery? I have some newer graves that might still be there. I assume that you speak Czech and/or German? If in your wandering through the cemetery for other folks request...anything that is Hanusch, Ruppert, Frank is highly likely to be related to me.
How do you like the town. I have heard that it is amazing and beautiful. I have only been to Karlovy Vary and Teplice and way back in 1997. Things I am sure have changed/improved much since then.

Thank you for the edit requests. They will be processed as soon as I review them. Just a reminder, or in case you don't know, I thought you might like to know that I transfer out of guidelines. If you would like custody of any memorials I manage please submit an Edit request using the "Suggest any other correction or addition" option. If I am not related I will transfer. Thank you!

I was able to find an obit for Edgar Leland Martin (not Leal) and made a page for him in Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. I'll see if I can get a death date for his mother, Ruth, and add her obit. I checked Harold's page, and I had already found and added an article about his murder.

Thanks for the info on her sons. I'll see if I can find their burials and add obits. I'll send you a note when I have finished.
