I started working on my family history after the TV mini-series Roots aired in the late 1970's. It was slow going back then...writing lots of letters and then waiting for weeks for replies. So much easier when computers came along!!! A big thanks to all the wonderful members of Findagrave.com for all the help and support they give. I live in Oregon, but most of my family came from the eastern two-thirds of the U.S., so it's hard for me to to travel to cemeteries there. I have received grave photos from volunteers all over the U.S. and that has meant the world to me.
I started taking volunteer photos for other members in 2012. It pains me to drive by a cemetery knowing that there are photo requests for graves there. Please feel free to use my photos in any way you like (no need to ask permission)...that's why I take them!!! Also, I would be happy to transfer memorials for anyone that is not a relative of mine.
Some of my families are: Fadness, Jensen, Okins, Shortt, Griffith, Parke, Sims, Pond.
Good luck to everyone in their search. Juelette | |

 | Aldwin Ellis I just learned from Findagrave that you have sponsored the memorial for this young warrior who gave his all on our behalf. Thank you for your kindness and respect.
I have transfered management of the memorial to you, as you had a personal connection to him and I did not. Keep up the good work!
Best regards, Charles | | | Charles A. Lewis
 | RE: Aldwin Ellis Thank you for the excellent photo you added! I also added his nickname that you provided. It is a privilege to be able to honor the sacrifice of these warriors.
