Hello everyone, my name is David. After more than 10 years as just "David," I decided to change my public name, as I am a perplexed historian. I may go back to David, but for now I am enjoying the change. I am a professor of history and have always loved to research my family history, and to pay tribute to my lost loved ones. Find A Grave is a great way to keep your family history alive. Please check out the memorials for my three departed grandparents. Marian L. Seymour (1915-2001) My beloved grandmother meant the world to me and I am glad she has this tribute, and My two grandfathers Harold H. Seymour (1913-1997), and Raymond Dominic Stallone (1910-1993). Also check out the tribute to my Great Aunt because I made her a promise she would never be forgotten Pauline Burke (1922-2003).|
2012, took from me one of my favorite people on the face of the earth, my Gretel. Gretel was the best friend of my Oma(grandmother). Gretel along with four other women constituted my favorite people on the face of the earth. I called them my hummingbirds as they fled their homes in Germany following World War II and created a friendship which formed a family. I thought of these women as superheroes and never thought I would lose one.
Gretel Dzierla (1927-2012).
Please visit the memorial of my good friend Marilyn:
Marilyn Borden (1932-2009).
Please leave me a message if you want to contact me, I no longer will give out my personal e-mail as they are never positive e-mails only complaints. I cannot help on famous memorials I have added, but if you feel you are a relative of mine or you have info I am lacking in one of my memorials, please feel free to leave a message.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANY OF MY PHOTOS AND POST THEM ON OTHER WEB PAGES LIKE ANCESTRY.COM WITHOUT PERMISSION. I HAVE SPENT YEARS FINDING THEM AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU RESPECT MY WISHES. THANK YOU.

|Susan Marie||Hi David|
Just added you as my friend. You are a wonderful writer on this site and I have been here for a long time. I think you are the best!
Are you related to the Youngdales? We are the Westchester Twp History Museum, 700 W Porter Ave, Chesterton, IN 46304. We have a bible that has a picture of Frank and George Youngdale and a "Youngdales" description of a picture of an early Chicago couple with two children. Apparently the Youngdales moved to California by the 1930's. Mrs Clara Carlson Bonander Norling moved to California too by 1920. I believe Clara Carlson and the Youngdale woman are sisters. If you would like scans of anything in the bible, please contact me at email@example.com.

Hello, Mr. Historian, and thank you for all of the work you do to lovingly create all of these online memorials. It is a huge help to those of us researching family members, and it is much appreciated. I have a simple correction, however. The 1979 photo attached to Florence Haley's memorial, attributed to you, is not actually Flo. Can you please remove it from her memorial? Thanks again for all you do!
- Flo's niece, Maura McFadden

Hello there! Curious to know if you are somehow related to Joseph Lawrence Gomes (buried in Turlock/Stanislaus County) or if someone had just asked you to photograph that headstone, as he and his wife, Edna (in the photo as well as noted on the shared headstone), are my grandparents.

I made the links before adding the obituary. It was an oversight not to have linked to his wife before now. Two sets of eyes really helps! -Nancy

It wouldn't let me send directly, but here is some reference info for her family connections.

Thanks and thanks for all your hard work.
|Jeff Jahn||Tombstone photo's|
You fulfilled a bunch of tombstone photo's for me in the modesto area in 2007 for Damas and others. I am not sure if I every got your permission or not to use the photo's. They do appear on my tree on ancestry with the Find A Grave Memorial # and the name of the volunteer that took it. If that is a problem please let me know so I can mark the tombstone as private and not have them upload. Thanks
