This has been my hobby for over seven years, started long before I discovered any websites for posting them.|
I find myself concentrating on the older, broken, unreadable tombstones, the ones that, because of layers of mold, lichen and grime, are so obscure that people tend to walk right past them. I get more satisfaction uncovering a lost individual's stone than I do photographing huge monuments that will be around for a thousand years and those more modern ones of the men whose bones have partially disintegrated while still clothed in the everlasting polyester suits that they were buried in!

|Becky Ollinger||Thank You!!|
I just want to thank you so much for the photos of Dennis, and Elizabeth Sullivan's tombstones. I can now add them to my collection on Ancestry.com. I appreciate the time you spent in the search. I tried to find some family members in that cemetery last time I visited Dubuque, and was overwhelmed in a sea of stones. I had no idea the cemetery was so big. Again Thank you!

Marie Kramer Gearhart is my Great Grandmother. I would like to be able to add her husband and children to this site.

Thanks Cheryl if you do not succeed that is ok. I hope to visit in the next year or so and then can do more searching myself. Take care and thanks for what you do for the Find A Grave community. Sincerely, Lorraine
|King||Left photo for Matt G.|
I left a clear closeup pic of Matt. He was hiding his missing left Arm behind someone. He was known to try to hide it in photos I was told. He was the best man in his brother Peters wedding to Elizabeth Krug ( I left pics of them both as well).
I also have photos but unsure if they are Anna Hamblins great grandparents and my mother was unsure so I didn't add them. I have many pics even of Anna Hamblins baptismal photo.
I am Dorothy's Granddaughter ( daughter of Lynn)
I knew Helen.
. I copied some old photos that Dorothy had left to my mom and added multiple people photos. Especially of Hamblin family . . I also added to the Kaufmann family if that is any interest to you as well

Hi Cheryl, If you have a chance someday in your wanderings of this cemetery could you check with the office and see if they have a map of all the burials in this cemetery. The reason I ask is I have many relatives buried in this cemetery and wish to see the proximity of possible relatives stones to my relative stones. I appreciate your time and effort. Should you be able to find a map please send it to me via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you in advance for all you do for the Find A Grave community. Sincerely, Lorraine

|King||Matt Gansamer- Dubuque, Iowa|
I went to add a picture of Matt Gansamer but it exceeded the pic limit. If you are a family member of his also- I can send the picture to you as it is a clearer close up then the ones you added. Taken at his brothers wedding.
