|Susan||RE: Lane graves, Upton Lake|
I transferred all the Lanes I could find, along with some of their in-laws. If you find anyone else you'd like, or if I missed anyone, let me know and I'll transfer them over. I'll let you know if I run into any more if them. Meantime, happy hunting. Susan

Hi Elizabeth. I've pretty much finished the Upton Lake graves, including all the Lanes I could find. I found Alfred Lane's parents if you want to link him up to them. They're John S. Lane 63477409 and Margaret Lane 63477359
I also put in one of his sisters, Fannie Lane (b. 1864), who never married.
Alfred's nephew Herman Lane is also there. Herman was the son of Alfred's brother Franklin (b. ca. 1861). He lived with his grandfather John in the censuses I found him in. I have no idea where his parents were.
Alfred's other sibs appear to have been John (b. ca 1852), Susan (b. ca 1855), George (b. ca. 1857), Walter (b. ca 1865) and Carrie (b. ca 1868). I didn't find any of them in Upton.
Let me know if you want me to transfer any of these people to you. I'll be glad to do so.

|Susan||Mildred Lane Stevens, Upton Lake|
I have this obit for another of your family:
Mildred Lane, 78, a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died Sept 8, 2000 at home. Born Feb. 3, 1922 in the town of Clinton, she was the daughter of Allen V. and Minnie A. Hessler Lane. She married George A. Stevens on Apr. 7, 1942 in Bridgeport, Conn. Mr. Stevens died on April 29, 1952. She is survived by a faithful, loving companion, James Leight, at home; a son, Joseph Stevens of Pleasant Valley; two daughters, Vera Grieve of Danbury, Conn., Mildred Stevens of Poughkeepsie; and adopted daughter, Marie Ellen Conklin of Poughkeepsie; a brother, Allen Lane, Jr. of Summerville, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Sammann of Katonah, N.Y.; Isabel Veach of Poughkeepsie; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Alfred, Walter and John Lane; and two sisters, Loretta Mutch and Viola Casale.
Poughkeepsie Journal, 10 Sept 2000
I posted a picture of her stone. The "loving companion" James Leight is also on the stone, but he's apparently still alive. Also on the stone is Mildred Stevens, also apparently still alive.

Changed her over to Amawalk Friends Cemetery--does that also mean I should move her father & mother Stephen & Mary Frost over to that one also instead of Amawalk Hill Cemetery.
If you'd like to since you were able to take the picture add it to Villette page that would be fine with me.

Thanks for your efforts in trying to find these graves. If you would post Mary, I'd very much appreciate it.
No, I don't need the originals, but could you add the cemetery photo (and other headstone photos, if you took any) to the Williams Cemetery listing? You never know when a relative of one of the people buried there will discover them.

Thanks so much for the photo of Clarrina Knapp's headstone! I appreciated your time and effort in obtaining it.
