Quatsey (Betsey) LittleDog. On the rolls she
starts out with only one name. Quatsey had children by four different men.
(1) Gun lay wee skee (2) Jonathan Blythe (NI). (3) Ocumma/John Welch (1/2
White). (4) Cho-yahgah Ti yoo no hul la, who married Quatsey Little Dog.
> 1. Nancy m. Hill
> 2. Arch
> 3. Chesquahneta/Youngbird
> 4. Gah da hoo yo chan
> 5. Caroline m. Standingdeer
> So take the name Hill, Arch, Youngbird, Standingdeer and this is where
> some of the Indian last names started. Each family started this way as
> back as you search.
> They were called by the Indian name first then the English. Awe gah do
> gah/Standingdeer was just Awe gah do gah on the rolls and census, then
> as Standingdeer, but when they had children they added the first name.

> seh later changed to Joe Welch. That is how it was done..
The first Indians or rather the full-bloods only had one name. For instance
as for back as I have found for my direct descendent, Little Dog/Gli oo di,
b. ca 1725 and wife Che-o-las-kee , one line of my maternal greats, had
three children and I descend from Quatsey/Betsy who was there after called
Quatsey/Betsy Little Dog. Betsy married or had four different men/husbands
and had a child from the first three and the fourth one named Cho-yah-gah,
later known as Choyahgah Tiyoonohulla, this being his father's name. The one
I descend directly from, she had five. Their names were Nancy,
Chesquahnita/Youngbird, Arch, Gah dah oo yo chan and Caroline, my 2nd. Great
Grandmother, married Standingdeer/A wi ga do ga. The names of her other
children from the other men were Wahheyuhcageeswkih/Pegion, Wilson Oocumma/U
ga ma and Blythe. All of the children were full-bloods except Wilson
Oocumma/Welch 3/4 (?) and Blythe 1/2, they had White fathers. These
remained East in NC. So this is where our first last names come from.
This is just one of the maternal lines. All were full bloods until my
mother was born and she was 1/2.

Greetings from the state of Michigan - USA.
I just checked to see what kind of weather you're experiencing in Austria, we are experiencing very similar temperature readings. At this time, in my part of Michigan, it's 58 degrees F (14 degrees C), high for today, 66 degrees F (19 degrees C).
Thank you, I appreciate you speedy reply.
Have a wonderful day,

Yes if it is easy to do that, I would love to see anything of the Mautners if you do find any Birth of Wolfgang Mautner...that is the most important one I need to find of his birth. I have nothing to go on. I do have a picture of him and found on ancestry.com a picture of a Michael Mautner who lived in Missouri..who may be a close relative of Wolfgang.
Thank you for transferring Hoover and Samuel Lambert to my care. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated, and for all the work you have done on Find A Grave.
March 22nd, 5th Sunday in Lent.
I thank JESUS, for dying on the Cross for me a sinner, saved by HIS Grace.

|Barbara (Kirsch) Day||Mautner|
I am researching my ancestry of the Mautners. I keep hitting block on the ones who came to MN. I havwe no record of Wolfgang Mautner. other than his age being 1804 and he died in MN. He is in the passenger with His wife Catherine b-1804 and Joseph b- 1837 or 1836 I have all the descendents of the family and on Wolfgangs death record it says his father was Michael. I think he has a brother or cousing who came too on the same ship in 1852 by the name Michael who is a year oe two younbger than he. He settled in Missouri. I do not know of any them. On the ship they spelled his name Mauthner, but it is Mautner. Also I have done a DNA test and the result say I have traces of Jewish descent. He is listed as a German Baptist from Behemia, Bavaria, Austria all diffrent census. I am wondering if they changed the religion because of the hard life in Europe there. If you could help me out it would be great. Oh and dthe other Mautner on the ship is a servant(Which is common back then to be part of payment) Her name was Sabille which is either a cousin of Joseph or a daughter of Wolfgang, not sure. she did not go to MN. This is a big task for me. I have the genealogy of my mother all of it except the Mautners, which would be my grandmothers maternal side Any hints????
