My main purpose on find a grave was to make a lasting memorial of my loved ones for future generations to have and treasure. So many times important dates and information about life events and achievements get lost. We think after someone is gone...I wish I asked mom about her family. We all want to know where we came from. |
I am searching family names from Southern Illinois: (Jerseyville; Greene Co.; surrounding area) Brown; Wallace; Bruce; Redman; Poor; Murphy and Hand. These are people on my fathers side.
Any of my pictures or information may be shared.
MY DEAR FRIEND
Death, why do you come to my thoughts
after so many a year? I never had time
for you or even gave you a care.
Now with trembling limbs I nudge close to
those slumber doors. Can I take a peek, NO!
Is that death making its self-known?
All my life I have not known you.
Now I can feel you lurking aboutÖwhatís
this ache? Whatís this new pain?
I take a walk through fallen leaves and I
look about the sky and delight in the day.
Are there many more for me?
Why do I feel this way? Oh, I see
itís the quiet one drawing me in.
Do I make friends with you? Will you be
kind in the end?
Do you have some hideous disease for me,
Or will you let me slip into slumber with
such ease? Oh, Iíve seen the pain others have had. Please tell me, what death will be mine?
Over time you have become a constant and
familiar companion. I donít fear you as much
and know when you are near. When the end
is upon me and I know it will come, I
will welcome your presence like a long
Guide me to my loved ones that are waiting for me. I have my place at the wedding supper you see. So when you come, come quickly for me, my dear friend.

Sure I will have it removed and yes by all means use the photos. I feel closer to my grandma when I'm out there so happy to do it.
I'm not on much I will delete it as soon as I can.

I did not create her memorial, I discovered it when I photo'd hers and her son's, Clifford Johnson (Find A Grave # 162060823), which I did create and will transfer to you. For Alice, you will have to contact the creator, Reesecup Member # 48707088, and work it out with them.

|Cheryl Havel||Sarah (Seely) Lawrence|
Dear Family, I too have Sarah Lawrence, born 1609-1684, married to Obediah Bruen. I'm not active on ancestry right now so canĎt really tell you much more about what I might have on record, but when googled with Obediah, I see that Sarah comes up with her last name as Lawrence. I also don't have record of her parents. I notice that whoever posted the info on find a grave posted over 73,000 posts. Maybe its a mistake. I have the impression you are christian, so we all know we decend from Adam so we are all related. If you find out anything else, or have any other questions feel free to email me at my email address. Blessings.

The stone is hard to read but the 1st letter does look more like an S than a C.
Also found some military records online that all show his name to start with S.
