I'm researching the Sawyer, Bingham, White, and Still lines of our family. While taking pictures of family stones I'll take pictures of other stones in my part of Oklahoma for other members of findagrave.com. If I'm in a small cemetery I'll take pictures of all of the stones so that I'll save gas and time. ;)|
If you request a picture in the Bartlesvilee area please include the grave location within the cemetery so that we can get pictures after work when the cemetary/city hall offices are closed. You can get the grave location by calling the office of the cemetery or the local City Hall Office that is near a public run cemetery.

By the way, my birthday coincidentally is December 10. The same as Harvey's death. Interesting huh. :D
|Darlene Wehr||Harvey Robert Parris|
Thank you for maintaining the memorial for Harvey Robert Parris at the Oglesby cemetery. He is my uncle who passed away, as you can see, as a baby. Theory is he starved to death during the depression/dust bowl era and Grandma Neice was not able to produce enough milk to sustain him because her nutrition level was not adequate. This is actually a second headstone for Harvey. The first one was carved out of stone by his older step brother Lee Hobbs who is still alive and nearing 80 years old. If I remember correctly, he was 10 when he carved the marker. He remembers Harvey crying a lot and later realized it was because he was hungry. We don't even know tough times like that generation came through. The original marker is at my mother Marie Parris Rowley's home in Jay, Oklahoma. I would love someday to return it to Harvey's grave where it belongs.
I read you are looking for someone to maintain his memorial. I would love to be able to if you will tell me how! My Granddad, Harvey's father, Charlie Parris is buried just next to him. Didn't know if you knew they were related.
Again Thank YOU!! Darlene Wehr
|SullivanHolmes||Lt. Frank R. Sullivan|
Hello! A HUGE thanks for posting the grave photo for Lt. Frank R. Sullivan, his wife Rose, and his sons, Patrick, Michael and Brian. This family descends from my Great-Grandfather's sister, Elizabeth Sullivan Rodgers. by coincidence her daughter Lizzie married a Frank Sullivan. I am hoping to locate a living relative from this branch of the family for genealogy reasons. ( I read Rose's obit and will take my search from there. ) On the off chance, are you a relative of this family? Also, I have a photo of Frank in his WWII cadet training uniform. Can I add that to your info?
Thanks for helping me break through a genealogy brick wall.

In case you were wondering, the source on those edits I have put in (mainly plot numbers) -- is the book "Our People And Where They Rest: A Visit to 104 Old Cemeteries in Eastern Oklahoma," James W. Tyner, Maxine Tyner and Alice Tyner Timmons, American Indian Institute, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. 1970-1985, (Library of Congress No. QE99-C5-T97) There wasn't a place for me to put that in the edit form.
Thanks for all your help! Best wishes.

Thank you so much for trying to get a picture of a stone. Unfortunately, yes, a lot of people didn't get stones. I very much appreciate your effort!

I just wanted to thank you for your hard work in the cemeteries in your area. Your work has helped me locate several family members in the Oglesby Cemetery.
Thanks, thanks, thanks,
